Hey guys! I want to know about your cursed artifacts! Here's mine!

It's a shield my dad brought home from the flea market when I was 14 or 15. I didn't even want it but he said something told him to get it for me. And hey that's pretty thoughtful dad, sure, ill take it.

I've tried countless times over the years to rid myself of it, but each and every time it finds its way back to me.

I left it in another state back in 2018 this last time and I thought it was gone for good until my sister showed up with it a couple weeks ago.

*shrugs* I give up I guess.

It's obviously a replica but if there's any knowledgeable people about heralds and whatnot, it'd be cool to know about which lineage has co-conspired with my father to doom me.

ayyyyy I’m happy with the adventurer’s paint set! Minsc looks good! I’m surprised that this set didn’t actually have purple in it since Minsc is known for his purple face paint.

but I really love the quote from Nolzur! Cracks me up!

always check the sizes on things when ordering from a catalogue kids...

i thought the wet pallet was small and the wood was smaller pieces. i laughed so hard.

at least the wood will be useful for some terrain, but that paint pallet is just. so. damn. big.

I tried brightening my false teeth and it didn’t really work. They’re just weirdly yellow compared to normal teeth. Looking online a LOT of people have the same issue.

I tried baking soda w/ vinegar and then bleech. The bleach cleared up the lipstick that got stuck to it and wouldn’t come off the cement, so that was good. But not other color change sadly

So I have 3 different paints on here. The brown is the Army Painter brand Nolzur’s Marvelous Pigments, the center matte black is citadel paint, and the glossy black is valejo game color. 

So I’m not big on the valejo. I don’t really want gloss very often and the paint is more plasticy like other acrylics, meaning when it gets scratched it pulls on and peels the paint around it (like you might pull the dried glue off your hand)

The Army Painter is kind of thin and scratches with little trouble. But the pigment is good.

The citadel remains my favorite. It can be a little too thick due to the paint starting to dry out from the big open caps. It does scratch but takes the tiniest amount of effort more than the army painter. But I can always water it down, although they can get gummy and weird at times once they reach the bottom. But if I compare it army painter then it’s probably a similar amount of paint comparing thin and thick consistencies. 

So i understand better why people are particular about priming. With the bottle paints thinner than the well pots, they really need a good undercoat of a primer.

I don’t think I posted this yet?? But I recently went to Hobby Lobby and was disappointed in their halloween decor so I got some other stuff.

I got a wonder $10 box of sand that has 12 colors in it!! This is perfect because you can use sand e to make flowers with tufts of grass. It’s a great deal, too. Got some new glue but it comes out real fast. I bought a small cage that will function as a big cage. I bought some light and sandy colored gravel, some white very fine sand for snow, autumn flocking, little hay bails and rolls of hay!!! Those are just so cute! I’m not even gonna do anything to them, they’re just so nice! They’ll be great set pieces. And hard to see but I bought some beads that kinda look like they could be lamps. then i bought actual lamposts from the dollhouse section--which im’ confused about because they’re really small for their dollhouse stuff.

ANd I bought some squeeze bottles for mixing up washes that I recently found out how to do (post more on that to come)

some good stuff. The flocking is real exciting and I’m so happy to have sand!!!!
