i can never say it enough but if you're an akayona fan that hasn't read magi by shinobu ohtaka yet i can only beg you to go read it. It's so similar to akayona yet so different in execution and setting in the most fascinating way they keep resonating with each other more and more as it goes it's so amusing.
I've been feeling like this for years but this akayona final arc is really so magi core. they both share so many themes and philosophical questions too. The shounen vs shoujo approach is a delight to think about. I understand if shonen isn't your cup of tea and magi does have issues related to that but I swear it is worth it it's easily the most impactful manga in my life akayona aside and dare i say just as much if not more in some ways. If you want another a fantasy story with a lot of politics and about the negociation with the system of fate and its powers, with stellar characters and their non-linear developments... please... Reading both inspire so many thoughts about each other.
