Record of Wayne's eldritch entity

SCARLET HOLLOW SPOILERS

Based on the flashbacks from Sybil, the mine collapse was the beginning of Enoch's plan to pull in an entity from another dimension to keep Scarlet Hollow going. So by extension, Theodore Scarlet being declared dead by Enoch when was plenty well alive and just couldn't use his legs after the collapse, we can assume he was the first vessel for that entity.

Based on the exchange between Enoch and Sybil in the episode 5 flashback as well, when he said he didn't appreciate her going behind his back during the events covered in episode 3 (supported by the vials you can find and read in episode 5 if you haven't given up your years and have the book smart trait) — the entity was in Theodore until that point. One of the vials before Charlie's attempt was addressed to Verena and said there was trouble with T (probably Teddy/Theodore).

So it could be the entity was upset over being in his body so long. Enoch said in one of the flashbacks that he'd get the creature a "less broken body" if that's what it took to keep it from complaining (basically accusing it of being picky). The remark about it feeling cheated does seem like the whole 'trapped in a cell' bit wasn't part of the original arrangement to the entity's knowledge.

On the grounds of the "less broken body" line, I think the infant Andrew Charles Scarlet was next up, not actually stillborn.

If I'm right, the entity was in Theodore from 1918 until 1945 (27 years) until swapping into Andrew Scarlet. I also think the "Mommy, I am in here too" note in the closet from episode 5 is also his.

Of course, that would probably still mean the player and Tabitha aren't related to Charlie... maybe. Because I think Alexandra, the owner of the doll in the closet, took his place in 1957 when she was presumed missing.

This is supported by her last entry in the writing practice book, where she said the boy in the wall (the dungeon, probably) told her his mom was good to him and read to him every night, etc., but only one kid could be in the wall. They'd have to trade places.

Her mom giving her a special dinner on the day of her last entry suggests she knew there would be a trade, so that's also... certainly something. So with that and the doll on the dungeon mattress seems to reinforce that (although it is possible the entity took it or got it without Alexandra being possessed just because she liked it and now it does too, but that doesn't explain her disappearance).

The interesting part to me is how Enoch's death on the same day as her disappearance factors into that.

He dies the same day she disappears? I think the entity made an escape attempt and pushed Enoch out the window nearest to the dungeon, off the cliff beyond. The lacerations may or may not have been involved, although the autopsy report says they're consistent with a fall from a great height... We may not be able to trust all of what's written in them.

So they somehow got the entity into Alexandra as containment if that's the case? This is the murkiest area if Enoch's hiking accident wasn't an accident at all, or his death was a lapse in "protection" during a switch over into Alexandra. Hard to say clearly for now, but the speculation is half the fun!

But if this is true, then the entity was in baby Andrew from 1945 to 1957, when it swapped over the Alexandra. Next was probably Mary-Belle in 1963.

The question is what happened between then and the time of the game, with cellphones and the like. Has to be the 2000s at the earliest, although it gives 2010s to me (based solely on vibes). Clearly, based on Wayne, a living body is not a requirement. I don't think Pearlanne was ever a vessel, though, given that her body was examined and death by sleep apnea was determined medically. Edwardine seems unlikely as well, having died from a heart attack at 89 according to the files. Seems reasonable to think, at least.

So was there anyone between Mary-Belle and Wayne? How did the entity get into Wayne? Did he explore the forbidden wing and die somehow, allowing the entity to take over? Or did the entity kill him in the process of taking over, or was Wayne killed by accident after being possessed? We know the entity that was in the cell is now in Wayne, but that's all I can say for certain.

Tabitha does say she genuinely liked him, so I don't think she allowed him to die or get possessed. The host is supposed to be a Scarlet anyway, according to her, so letting Wayne get taken over and running free doesn't help solve her problem.

Of course, this all assumes that the entity in Wayne is the one that was in the dungeon as it claimed, and that everything Tabitha said in the Toxic Yuri scenes was true as well. But! I love the mystery of it all, and I'd be happy to see what others think too.

Can we talk about how devastatingly sad Lenore's abandoned wizard tower in the Underdark is?

She was so lonely, yearning for a lost love due to a mistake made. She created automatons to act as companions. She owned a dog.

Outside the tower, in the little alcove on the left hand side, you can find a letter she's written to her love, caving and apologizing for her mistake and asking for them to wait for her. Then you read further to see that her lover wrote a return note on the same sheet of paper that said they came and that they waited for ages, but she never came. Likely, she died before she could return.

The whole tower is a woman gone mad with loneliness. I can't help but see Lenore as a parallel to how Gale might have been without Tara or his mother after Mystra cast him aside.

I didn’t think I could fall in love with him even more the second time I romanced him.

I was already determined to make him a god in my Durge playthrough, so I reluctantly did the right dialogue choices to support him in taking the crown, but I was not prepared for such romantic lines.

Yes, we now that the best ending for Gale is to become the finest and hottest professor of the Blackstaff Academy, and that Tav will do their best to prove him that he is enough as it is.

But look at how is happy to know that you support him in his ambition and that you believe in him and in his ability to succeed where even Karsus has failed. After Mystra let him believe that his only use was to blow himself up, and he lost all his self-confidence as a wizard (is it even possible?).

I still prefer the Professor Gale Ending and I think Gale deserve to live his life to the fullest as a human, but I know that I would be by his side whatever choice he made. How can you say 'no' to such a puppy eyes?
