It feels very weird realising that I'm about to hit 3 years of making these wee creatures. The first one was done as a bit of a lark, just to see if I could. Safe to say things escalated a bit 😅

The response has been phenomenal and people have been so lovely about my work. Seeing people respond to them in real time at cons was a delight, especially when the human holding them was fully blanked and people were latching onto the muppets instead :D

Many of them thankfully have new homes because my back room was getting a bit crowded. And to the folk who have commissioned me specifically, it's been so much fun learning new skills to get the looks Just Right 🥰

We cover a grand total of 5 TV shows (so far): OFMD (obviously), Good Omens, Deadloch, Time Bandits and Man Like Mobeen. There are a few in there of non-TV characters as well, plus my one cat, the smallest fella I ever made. Fun fact about Karl (the seagull) - it had cables in it so you could flap its wings and make its beak open and shut.

I love looking at them like this, in chronological order, and seeing the progress across the three years.

Love playing toys with Yugi's eye color. I don't think I'll ever say it directly in my writing but they work on eldritch bullshit rules that amuse me and possibly no one else where:

A) they were Always that color. this is the color of Yugi's eyes. (the same way his house has always had an attic room and there has never always been a door across the hall.

B) Yugi has blue eyes, Yami has red eyes, and when both are in control (or are simultaneously perceived) they have purple eyes (it's fucking color mixing. more Yugi more blue and vice versa)

C) if/when I have to describe their eyes around millennium/eldritch bullshit, Yugi's eye color descriptors skew towards chemistry/physics/very modern creations (Cherenkov radiation blue is one that if I haven't used yet I will find an exuse for) while Yami's skew towards semi-precious stones of ancient egypt (usually carnelian). when they're being... marginally more normal it gets to be normal shit. ballpoint pen ink or lavender n crap. (I say this and then also have a fic sitting around with 'Yugi' getting modern gemstones to describe his eyes but in my defense that was Jou not knowing about Yami)
