Okay so like, for anyone who reads my Fanfics they'd know Balan and Lance's hearts don't beat. Because they're relatively hollow on the inside.
Like they don't have organs or bones, there's ichor and a heart that looks like the ones we see in game for the inhabitants.
With that in mind, I like to imagine Balan and Lance really like listening to someone's heartbeat. It's a sound that they, themselves cannot make. They like it..
