thinking about c!drunz with food on this fine Friday evening.

mostly how dream has been shown to have an issue with food - using it as a bargaining tool with sam, needing to have gapples - being desperate for food because he isn't used to making farms or settling down.

and I think about punz who gently tends to their bees and keeps their green houses full... and I think about how food is such a trust thing. I think about punz feeding dream post prison, and I think about how cooking for each other has to be some kind of love language. it's an act of trust. you won't poison me, you'll consider what I like.

like yeah sure, there's the humor of a grilled cheese sandwich date (who the fuck eats cheese sandwiches on a date?) but the act of mundanity that dream won't allow himself. that other people won't allow him. it's absurd, but the wound persists. he just wants to be a normal human. he just wants to eat sandwiches with someone close to him. but he'd never let himself have thaaaaaat.

so sure. maybe at 3 am, when dream can't sleep, because all he can feel is the sweltering pain of the obsidian walls against his skin, punz makes them both grilled cheese sandwiches.

and it's stupid. but it's probably the best thing he's eaten in a while.

anyone else wish that when folks give characters aro, ace, or aroace headcanons, that they'd go more in depth? there are so many layers to being aspec, so many microlabels, so many other types of non-romantic or non-sexual attraction.

is the character ur headcanoning sex/romance favorable, indifferent or repulsed? do they have a libido? are they interested in romance/sex as a concept or fictionally? do they experience platonic, aesthetic, emotional, sensual, etc attraction at all? are they aspec because of trauma? are they demi or grayromantic/sexual?

u can also stop infantilizing aspec people and characters, thank you.

Update

So, my grandma got diagnosed with a terminal illness the other day, she’s dying. And the next day, today, I found out we need to put our cat down on Monday because she is also dying due to a tumor in her head.

I’m kind of spiraling and feeling a lot and nothing at the same time.
