You Are Also The Machine (an angry rant about society)
There's this quiet discomfort that exists within me when I imagine the future. The problem is, I don't know how I fit into this society. And, with the sacrifice it entails, I don't even want to fit into it. I don't want to give up on the humanity that screams from within my ribs. I am not made for technology, I am not made for an office, I am not made to sell, to be used, to be profited off of, to become part of the grand scheme of economy and the unfairness of it.
Yes! Yes I end up wanting money because it is the only way. I would love to say it's the only way to get what you want. But you don't need money in order to just happily purchase books or clothes you like so that a kind, beautiful person who wrote the books and sewed the clothes can be grateful for your love of them. You need it to survive. You need it because if you don't have it, you die poor and hungry and cold, tossed under a bridge. And, frankly, a future in which this is a true, real, possible outcome is not a future I want to be a part of. But, of course, this is not something you have the privilege to choose, so you're left with little options against the speeding course of time, and if you don't do, do, do, do, you're going to end up under that bridge. This is how you're thrust, instruction-less, into the Future, whether it is a future you desired or not. You're simply forced to do what you can so that you survive with, at the very least, your dignity, because it's likely that, even once you're in the whole fucking system, you'll never own anything. It's the perfect scam. Here, for consolation, have this book! It's nice, we printed five million copies of it just so that we could make you happy! The author gets a whopping 0.00001% of the money we'll make from their beloved hard-labor. You're meant to consume and shut up, like a pacifier.
My soul, whatever the fuck that might be, yearns for a world in which I can sit down and make. I would love to make. I would love to sew and write and draw and cook and strum and garden and paint and film and act and sing and entertain and discover a way for man to fly without wings. But, for $9,99 a month you can buy a robot that will do it all for you! While the robot does that, come sit at the desk and work, come be a part of the scheme, come sign your humanity away just so that you can make $10 a month and be left with enough to buy a quarter of an energy bar, on account of having to pay for the robot. If we tax the rich it won't help, they'll leave and then we can't raise rent through the roofs to make money off of it. Why do we need money? I don't know let's ask the robot. It says: "How else do you want me to work?" Good point! We need the robot cause we've forgotten everything we've fed into it. The collapse of the economy would be a problem because then the big, rich corporations will no longer make money. Which they need. So that they can make more money.
Robot, what is water? It says: "It's what I need to survive."
Soon we'll be sticking straws into ourselves in order to quench our own thirst.
But if you have approximately $600 per year, you can get water running under your own bridge!
Okay, The Menu is fantastic. Kinda depressing, but fantastic. Highly recommended.
I love movies that have been given a lot of thought. This could have easily become a "how horrendously can a person be killed while eating", but it kept itself a high step above. But it's not overly cerebral either.
Anyway, I really enjoyed it.
FUCK romeo and juliet. i want what these bitches have
Jus a reminder to keep yo cats indoors!!!! It better for both their health and the health of the environment, plus you don't got to worry about them going missing.
Imma ask and continue to ask. Include Indigenous Americans in your activism. Don't forget about us.<3
Furry duo idea: Catfish and Fishcat!
Yo okay. So last night had a dream where i got famous from writing a book titled "In Search For The 100 Gecs". Like it sold millions of copies n somehow managed to dodge all copyright infringement. It was about my sona Zephyr The Kidd getting into a car accident with tons of explosions going off everywhere. But Laura Les and Dylan emerged from the smoke and offered to heal Zephyr if he help them find the other 98 Gecs. It got revealed Zephyr was actually the 3rd Gec, and don't remember who most the other 97 Gecs were, but it a mix of fictional characters and real people, both dead and alive. At the end of the book where they got all 100 Gecs, they defeated the overarching Demon Lord with the power of music.
It was like, targeted towards middleschoolers and every swear word was replaced with "gec". Real people who featured in the book were talking about how it 'changed their life'. And as said before, how this survived copyright is beyond anything i capable of understanding lmaoo.
This what the cover looked like, tried recreating it to best of my ability. Peppa Pig and Parappa were two of the 100 Gecs, but this amalgamated fusion between them never appeared. Oh yea then i woke up with terrible heartburn.
