Nearly 400 Rohyngia Muslims in the Rakhine State of Myanmar have been killed in the past 10 days. In the latest tragic event several women and children drowned in the Naf river trying to escape the military thugs. Eyewitness reports say that at least 15 bodies of Rohingya including 11 children were found floating in the water.

According to the UN the Rohingya are the ‘most persecuted minority group in the world’. They have been facing a slow-burning genocide/ethnic cleansing since 2012 subjected to gang rape, burning, killings, brutal beatings and disappearances forcing many to flee to neighboring Bangladesh where they are surviving in overcrowded, squalid conditions.

Muslim Congress denounces the harsh measures taken by the Buddhist establishment and the Myanmar military apparatus and holds the UN Security Council culpable for not intervening in this appalling tragedy against helpless civilians.
