you have more in common with legendary and mythical pokémon than most other people do
pokemon fans when they have to wait another year for the next big game with no major releases in-between

the new fire-type starter pokemon looks great
one more fanart of the new pokemons actually
i IMMEDIATELY thought of pom gets wifi. unrelated, i’ve been having a lot of lower back pain recently
They have been gradually feminizing the Water type starters each Pokemon generation
Gens 1-3, big, bulky, masculine Water type starters, Blastoise has cannons in its back, Feraligatr has sharp claws and fangs, mega Swampert is a muscular beast
Gens 4-6, sleek, androgynous, still badass and powerful looking but definitely not as masculine
Gens 7-9, thin, feminine, cunty, skittle squad incarnate, these starters are for the girls and the gays
Now here we are in Gen 10 and there's no more holding back. First stage and she's already got the wings and the bedroom eyes. They're putting chemicals in the water to turn the fricking Water types gay.

The fact that so many people are still saying that the creator of Pokemon is confirmed autistic is wild. We have exactly one interview where this was brought up, and it is highly unlikely that it was actually him in that interview.
What makes it unlikely?
The interview was conducted on MySpace in the early '00s. Trolls impersonating famous people were running rampant on all available social media during that era, and there was no reasonable means of verification of identity.
MySpace wasn't exactly widespread in Japan at the time, if it ever was at all. The possibility of a particulary famous Japanese individual using a primarily English platform for any reason at that point is highly unlikely.
The author who wrote the UNAUTHORIZED biography never actually met him in person or even talked on the phone with him and never got or gave concrete confirmation that it was actually Satoshi Tajiri running the MySpace page. The book is also riddled with other inaccuracies, which is more reason to be suspicious of this claim.
Tajiri-san himself has never said anything about it in any interviews given before or since. Anyone claiming he is autistic that is not Tajiri-san or his medical provider(s) is not in a position to make such a definitive claim on the matter.
Make no mistake, it would be AWESOME if it did actually turn out he's autistic. We need as much positive representation for neurodivergent folks as we can get, and so much about Tajiri-san and his story is worth admiring.
But the thing is we don't have any concrete, credible sources for any claims of his being neurodivergent.
Bulbapedia has looked into this. They're pretty intense about making sure they have accurate sources for their info, and discuss why they don't include this on their article about him here: https://m.bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Talk:Satoshi_Tajiri
DidYouKnowGaming has looked into this. It's the first thing they talk about in this video:
Even the folks at Wikipedia acknowledge there's no credible source for this claim, and they have really tightened up their sources and fact-checking in the last few years before any article edits are allowed to go through. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Satoshi_Tajiri
Again, it would be awesome if he does turn out to be autistic, especially considering how much the Pokemon communities and the autism community overlap and interact.
But it is 2024. Let's not armchair-diagnose strangers. Let's please make sure we have actual sources for our statements and stop spreading misinformation.
Pokemon Heritage Post
the madlads actually did it. they made the Dragoniteite mega stone. now we just need Mega Meganium and Mega Yanmega, and the prophecy (the fanbase's jokes from 2013) will be fulfilled
me and my followers on tumblr
Like, okay, I love Taco Bell nachos. I love them so much. At time of filming, those cost a little under $3. If someone asked me if they were worth it, I would say, "Yes, certainly!" If tomorrow, they suddenly cost $20, I would immediately be able to say, "Oh, mm-mm, no. No, they're not worth that." I wouldn't say, "Well, I really like them, so I suppose if you can afford it, they're worth it." I would say no, they're worth around $3. Maybe up to five, if I was desperate.
This segment from jenny nicholsons star wars hotel video keeps playing in my head whenever people talk about the cost of video games these days so i'm clipping it because it's relatable to me.
Hi! Video game developer here. I hope you don't mind me jumping on your post. Please allow me to make an argument supporting the price and the value of modern day video game titles. Video games cost more money than ever to make.
Players demand more and more content for the exact same price they've been paying for years.
"...but during Gen 5 and 6 in the 1990s, the typical came ran $40-60, or $76-115 in 2023 dollars." -Matthew Ball
This is why we are seeing an infestation of micro-transactions and pared down DLC. Companies are trying to recoup that $30-$60 discrepancy.
The refusal to pay more for their games (along with admittedly poor planning and trend chasing on leadership's part) has resulted in a historic number of layoffs and company shutdowns. In 2024, nearly 15,000 developers lost their jobs. This year hasn't been as rough (only 1,500 so far).
In Ms. Nicholson's video she states that (and I am paraphrasing here), "if [she] knew the actors and workers were being given the money [she] was spending, it would be worth it."
The money you are spending on video games and their consoles IS GOING TO THE PEOPLE WHO MAKE THE GAMES! (Here are a few websites that estimate budgets for games. They are largely based on the costs of paying developers. )
I won't say buy the Switch if your options are between a gaming console and rent for the month; but if you want the console and have the change to spare, please make the purchase. That way we developers can pay our rent too.
didn't see anyone else make this yet so here you go
We know how Ingo appears in Legends Arceus, despite him being Gen 5 while the game is based on Gen 4. That got me wondering if Gen 7 characters will appear in Legends Z-A.
I personally think at least somebody from the Aether Foundation will appear. They’re the people who made Silvally and have the Reassembly Unit you used to complete Zygarde, a Pokemon I’m sure will be important in this game.
