Don't you find it weird how Ashildr was so easily forgiven by Clara? In Hell Bent they act as flirty and friendly as ever even though in Clara's perspective it's been hours since Ashildr became partially responsible for her death, sentenced to death a person for stealing medicine (if her place is such a sanctuary why do people even need to do that?), threatened Rigsy, and conspired against the Doctor. I feel it conflicts with Clara's personality to let all that go in such short time.
Not really. Ashildr didn’t kill Clara, bottom line. She didn’t want to kill anyone. And I think Clara understood that. I mean, she certainly didn’t seem to blame her in Face the Raven. If anything, I imagine Clara related to Ashildr’s need to keep control of trap street for the good of all (because some races, like Cybermen, would not listen otherwise, it was all explained). As for the conspiring against the Doctor, she was forced into that by the Time Lords, otherwise they would attack the street she had worked very, very hard to protect. Really, the whole thing was their fault. That’s the whole narrative Hell Bent was playing with, suggesting the Doctor going to avenge Clara only to thoroughly subvert it in every way. Clara and Ashildr were a counterpoint to that, both calling out the Doctor.
And let’s not forget:
DOCTOR: You killed her. ASHILDR: No. DOCTOR: You let it happen. ASHILDR: No, I didn't. Neither did you. She did. She died for who she was and who she loved. She fell where she stood. It was sad, and it was beautiful. And it is over. We have no right to change who she was.
Clara’s death was the result of nothing more than her aspiring to the impossible heroism the Doctor sometimes manages, and in the end, she (and Ashildr) earned that heroic role.
