I rarely post over here anymore, but have so enjoyed floating back over to tunblr the last several months amid the hell space that is a bunch of other social media platforms that are near constantly on fire all the time. Which is all to say, I had a nice small stack of anonymous messages asking me when I might post a video again, or ever, and saying they missed my work. That’s super generous. Me from six years ago when I tried to semi-regularly share things and musing to YouTube is wildly flattered, and I am touched that my voice mattered to some folks in any regard. If you’re still somehow finding me, thank you, and I have good news, I’m back (sort of).
My partner, Scott has a wonderful channel called NerdSync. As I’ve slowly creeped into more of his videos in the tail end of 2022, it’s fitting that we are now starting 2023 with a video covering an all time favorite of mine, Whisper of the Heart! Bonus points that I got to flex my rusty writer (and YouTuber) skills and share what it means to be an artist not in constant pursuit of a singular craft, loving someone who is constantly striving to perfect their own.
The pursuit of art and entertainment is anything but easy. I’m still daily deciding how I want to show up for myself in creative play, and how I want to share those expressions too. Luckily, loving Scott is the simplest thing I get to do each day. No promises on if I’ll be even close to regularly creating or sharing my work as fully as I used to ever again. So far my current comfort zone is in collaboration, and Scott is easily the best partner I could ever ask for in that.
