Idk how many ppl are actually coming from mycttwt to tumblr but. I've seen other people be nice about this and I think it ends up downplaying it's importance:

LIKING A POST DOESN'T DO SHIT

This has been a huge problem on here for, like, forever, but if you actually want to support someone's content you reblog it. Liking a post does not increase its chances of being seen by anyone, it does not prioritize its visibility in the tags, it does not mean your followers are in any way more likely to see it. The only way to get more eyes on a work is to reblog it.

Liking is more like a save feature than anything else, because you can go to your blog and see your liked posts. Sometimes people will like things, because it's quicker, and later take the time to "clear out their likes". Doing that basically means scrolling through your liked tab and reblogging everything you want to reblog or unliking whatever you've decided you don't want to keep any more.

The reblog>likes rule is especially important for art and fics. People will appreciate if you reblog their funny posts, but not getting a ton of reblogs on smth you thought of and posted in like 2 minutes isn't going to be as disappointing as something you spent time on.

Nobody's gonna get mad at you, individually, for liking something instead of reblogging it, but they will probably end up being pissed off just generally. Please please please understand the way this site functions and support artists and writers. Thanks.
