Bought my first DSLR a few weeks before our Eastern European road trip. Here's me geeking out with my new Nikon D3300 on our 8km walk from Donji Milanovac to Zlatno Jezero ("Golden Lake") and back. We never found the lake. And neither did some fellow wanderers we came across. But it was an epic walk all the same. We met a local man on a moped who noticed we were looking at our route map. He stopped to point something out to us, and when we said 'hvala' (thank you) he exclaimed 'Serbski!' and proceeded to speak to us entirely in Serbian for the next 20 minutes! From all the pointing and hand gestures and smiling, we think he was trying to tell us about the beautiful area we had ventured to. Everyone was so friendly!And a little stray dog that we named Serj walked with us the ENTIRE way from the town and back.
