My First Pride Event
today I went to my first Pride Event and brought along my Transgender Flag with me. Quickly did I learn that these events are meant to be for those with friends, so being friendless made it uncomfortable. Everyone had their Pride flags but I was only the 2nd person to have such a flag even though I was not the only trans person - we trans people were clearly a minority. I felt somewhat out of place, somewhat judged for my appearance and that none of the ‘friends’ I know wanted to talk to me. I did make a new friend who made me feel less alone. Overall I do not feel happy like I was before I went, not sure what the next events will be like.
