The Illustrated Encyclopedia of Rock (NEW 1978 Edition) - Alice Cooper. Born Vincent Furnier in Detroit, 1948, a preacher’s son. Was raised in Phoenix and eventually moved to L.A. in 1968. With no big success, on #frankzappa ’s Straight label, they moved to Detroit about 1970 and came under the wing of #bobezrin They put out “Love it to Death” and scored a ht with ‘I’m 18’ America’s equivalent to #mygenetation (We had Billion Dollar Babies in the early 70s.
