Visiting dad in prison today...

Horrid circumstances aside, I’m looking forward to seeing him and catching up. From what he’s told me he’s pretty comfortable in there. We’re driving up to the sticks then going in 2 at a time…

From a creative standpoint I’m actually quite excited about it. I haven’t been to a prison in years, and never in Canada. Today’s looking to be a unique episode in my life…If it were a T.V. show it’d likely be the mid-season finale.

Word of advice to single folk.

If you’re casually dating. Make sure to weigh all your options before letting your friends set you up. Regardless of what societal norms claim. There’s nothing wrong with seeing more than one person at the same time as long you’re open about it. However once you start mixing mutual friends into the equation, there’s an added pressure to settle down for whoever your friend(s) set you up with…And guilt due to indecision.

In other words, in the dating world. Always do your own heavy lifting, otherwise don’t be surprised if eventually someone else ends up doing your dirty work.

Looking to the future.

It's a weird mix of excitement and terror in my mind these days. I'm in a heavily transitional phase of my adulthood at the moment. I'm forming a path that I'll follow for next long chapter in my life. The present looks very malleable and as though I'll be strong enough to carve out a better path by myself. As I had always intended to. But relationships that seemed of paramount importance have sadly faded and new ones that would of otherwise been taken for granted, quickly solidifying as vital. While I've no doubt that my future is looking to be a bright one. During my time off, I'm inevitably filled with sorrow at the thought of having lost the only good parts of my darker past.
