#6yearsago I still remember that cold Chicago night walking up and down Michigan Ave. with my family from California. By then most of my #MyJihad campaign crew had already eye-witnessed our ads on the Metro buses except for me. This photo was taken moments I spotted our ad for which I photographed. It couldn’t have been the perfect moment with the people I cherish to share in the excitement of seeing my photography displayed not only in Chicago but across the U.S. defining the term ‘Jihad’ while educating and breaking stereotypes. The best part was the wide grin across my father’s proud face. Who would’ve known that that would be the last time my father, my guru would visit my home in Chicago. I thank God for allowing my father to be part of my memory. It was worth the delay to witness the ads with the people who are your biggest cheerleaders in life.
