MyNavi’s Woman’s Editorial Department Interviews Bandai about Tamagotchi Connection Re-Release
MyNavi is one of the lading recruitment magazines in Japan, the MyNavi group has many different brands. This series on the MyNavi website allows the website to introduce readers to different items, and this time it’s Tamagotchi’s. The interview is between Tanishi, a MyNavi editor and Aotama from Bandai.
The interview reviews the history of Tamagotchi in the early days, the social phenomenon, the various Tamagotchi series, and the return of the Tamagotchi Connection! They mention that the Tamagotchi Connection was truly the second boom after the Tamagotchi Original released back in 1996.
We also found it interested that they speak about the globalization of Tamagotchi, and the Bandai staff member mentions that there are a lot of daily difficulties surrounding marketing and product developed overseas. Aotama from Bandai mentioned that what makes overseas users happy requires some trial and error, and they work closely with their teams internationally to conduct field surveys. When they hear that the overseas users are happy, they feel the they have reached a rewarding point!
Lastly they review why Tamagotchi has been so loved for so many years. Aotama mentions that it gives users surprises by adding novelty and is being passed down from generation to generation.
