I don't do as much art journaling as I used to, but I really want to get into a lot more Muse-themed spreads.
A few pages I made around the release of the Origin of Symmetry 20th anniversary remixx.
And here's a spread themed specifically around one of my favorite songs, Hysteria.
I've had two different family members gift me the exact same notebook on two different Christmases. Decorated them with stickers to set them apart.
Asking about your notebook obsession: which is your favorite and why
One of my personal favorite notebooks I kept was a gray A5 Daycraft Signature I kept around 9 years ago, which I consider one of my favorite "proper" adult journals. The faux leather cover did not hold up over time (polyurethane covers unfortunately are lousy for long-term storage, now matter how buttery-soft and supple they feel), but it was a dream to write in. (Mind you, I'm not really one for fancy pens.)
I've come to attach specific journals I've kept over the years with whole "eras" of memory. I associate 2012 in particular with a lot of small but wacky things: the year I was still very creative writing-wise, the year I did a lot of travel with family, the year I had a ton of late-bloomer fandom phases, the year I "rediscovered" one of my all-time favorite bands (you've probably seen my frequent reblogs of them lately). That notebook was pretty much my second limb for all those times.
I wish I had some photos of it on hand; right now it's buried near the bottom of one of my long-term storage bins 😐
My secret to journaling regularly: if you get anxious about filling am entire notebook, try a smaller pocket-sized one to help build your confidence more.
Had another journaling dry spell over the last couple of weeks. (I blame the irresponsible act of skimping on meds.) At least I'm slowly getting back into it.
Another page of my journal in commonplace book mode. A Maya Angelou poem with some astronomy-themed accoutrements.
