on march 28, 2012, i went to my first one direction concert. i had no idea i was going until that morning. my friend and i were entered in a contest to win front row tickets and a backstage pass and we found out that morning we lost. before we got the bad news we were both expecting the worst and planning what we were going to do if we didn't win. i told her that whether or not we won the tickets, i was driving to camden. she agreed and we decided to look for tickets. that was around the time we got the news of the loss but at that point, our other plan was already in the works. melissa went online and bought lawn seats and we were on our way. we got to the susquehanna center, made our way to the crowd at the gates, and waited. it was tightly packed and hot but i've never felt more at home being in that swarm of people. i didn't have to worry about anyone being annoyed by my constant 1d chatter and there was no need to explain any jokes or stories. everything was one direction and i loved it. i don't know how long it was...two or three hours maybe...when they finally opened the gates. me and my friends grabbed hands, passed through the doors, and ran until we hit the grass and found where we wanted to stand. melissa and i went to get braclets and drinks and when we made our way back to our spot, it was packed and it was amazing. people, all ages, parents, girls dressed as lou, carrot barrettes, other girls dressed as niall, everywhere. we danced all during the dj's music and the two opening acts until finally one direction was to come on. i can't put into words how i felt imagining that i would finally be seeing them with my own eyes and in the midst of that thought, they came running onto stage. my eyes went directly to harry and i lost it. i couldn't believe it. then i went to the other boys, trying to take it all in. they all looked beautiful. more beautiful than any picture or gif or video could ever show. they went about their set list and to be honest, it's all one exciting, entertaining, beautiful blur. i'll tell you what stuck out to me the most. first, harry thrusting his hips (jesus take the wheel) during "people going all the way" in up all night. niall telling us that they had only expected to see the seats filled and how amazed he was to see the entire arena packed and, while singing his part of moments, him looking down and shaking his head, and then looking back up at the crowd, like he couldn't believe his life. (i have a video of this which i posted. (watch if you think you can handle it.)) hearing harry say "oohz" for myself. (i also have a video of this which i'll post eventually.) the boys chasing each other on stage like a bunch of idiots. harry singing "sittin' on the toilet". someone throwing a woody doll onto stage and liam putting it on harry's shoulder while he sang his WMYB solo. niall constantly singing into the camera and making funny faces. it goes on and on. all and all, the most memorable moments for me were the things that we all know and love the boys for that i finally got to experience for myself. i didn't take any pictures of the boys. i only took a few videos and then my phone died. i posted all the pictures i have of that day and i'm going to post my favorite bits of video i that i have. i didn't meet the boys. i wasn't in front row. none of them touched me or looked at me or anything of the sort. but regardless, to finally see them myself was an amazing thing and i can't wait until the next concert:)
