I have loved learning the history and just, like, looking at the color photos. 72 really wasn’t that long ago. The USSR fell when I was 2 years old. Geno, living in rural Russia, was 5. The books make it feel like it was so very long ago, but it really, really isn’t. Geno’s parents lived through deficits and etc. They were in the heart of it, and so was Geno.
All 4 Russian games were at the same complex. Interestingly enough, the building they used wasn’t the Big one that was later used for the Olympics. Will Geno take Sid on a tour of the absolutely beautiful Luzhniki Palace of Sports? Absolutely.
