After a messy divorce, Muse A, a witty and warm-hearted designer, returns to work at a large corporate firm, determined to keep her head down and pick up her life. But then there’s Muse B, the charming, quietly funny Vice President who in the office behind her — and wears a wedding ring.
It starts innocently: shared laughs during meetings, subtle glances, a habit of arriving at the coffee machine at the same time. He compliments her designs and acts as a mentor, she enjoys mocking his bad jokes and softens his corporate demeanor.
The tension between them rises over time until they lose themselves in it…let’s plot the rest.

hey, tags! just looking for someone(s) to write some m/m plots with, preferably on discord (tumblr&email work too). i have some plots listed below -- mostly modern settings with supernatural themes. feel free to dm if you like any below, or have an idea of your own! thanks xx
001.) supernatural/magic/crime theme
Muse A is a demon-for-hire that “ promises to solve your case, or your soul back 100% guaranteed ! “ Muse B is a satisfied client that just unexpectedly passed. Upon opening his eyes, B finds himself in A’s office with a cold chain collar around his neck, and a stack of files thrust into his hand. A tells him to get to filing before they both have to hear their next clients tale of woe. This is the beginning of A and B’s partnership and the insane jobs they are hired to do.
002.) dark souls/mmorpg/fantasy theme
It’s been three days since Muse A has been locked in this dungeon by its beastly inhabitants. Awaiting to be eaten, A hears the wail of one of the beasts and the squelching sound of a weapon sinking into flesh. Muse B, a seasoned adventurer, was lured here by the promise of treasure, but instead found a live captive. B rescues A as long as he promises to be his sword. The two become a party and go forth to find treasure and other precarious situations.
003.) incubus/supernatural/kinda cute theme
Muse A is an incubus that doesn’t really think much of humans as anything but cattle. Out on the town for a meal, A starts chatting up Muse B at a bustling club. Finding themselves headed towards B’s apartment so A can eat away at B’s energy, they’ve somehow swapped numbers? And made plans for . . . a date? A finds B peculiar, and is just very confused about his feelings, but still, a demon has to eat. Hopefully A doesn’t accidentally kill his new date.
004.) sci-fi/firefly/voltron theme
Muse A and B are two members on a run-down spaceship that always seems to find trouble. Then again, when it comes to pillaging abandoned crafts and exploring menacing planets … you tend to find your fair share of danger. A and B are always ready to jump into the fray. Whether it be to find a new signature firearm for A pose with, or uncovering technologies of forgotten civilization for B to decode, the possibilities are endless. Of course, getting into bar fights is just as common.
005.) magic/fantasy/supernatural theme
It’s been a few months since Muse A broke up with their possessive ex, and after too many unexplained coincidences, he’s sure he’s been cursed. From worms in his bed, to tacks in his shoes, there’s no doubt. Unable to break it himself, A finds a new magic shop that’s recently opened run by Muse B. Enlisting the help of the witch, A agrees to help. Sadly for B, his ex sends one spell after another, and keeps finding himself at A’s shop. But, even after the curses stop coming, he can’t help be drawn in by the smell of incense and the company.

i. map
genre: historical, romance, violence, based off the tv show “godless”
setting/time period: 1880s American West
pairing: f/f
type: 1x1
status: OPEN
ii. setting/backdrop
In the Wild West, a sort of anarchy reigns supreme. People abandon the comfort of home for a perilous journey out west with thoughts of gold and ore spurring them on, and are often met on the road with violence and disorder. The few sheriffs, marshals, and vigilantes who seek to keep the peace are unable to keep up with the violence and debauchery that marks this new and exciting territory of America. Lawlessness runs rampant, and people from all walks of life turn to criminality in their pursuits of fame and riches. For those who do make it out west, hardship and opportunity awaits in equal measure. Towns are built up from tent-cities, and as homes and churches are created so too are saloons and brothels.
Copperton is a small development in the heart of Arizona. The town name was shortened from the original name “Copper-town,” and was so-called because of the massive amounts of valuable copper available to be mined. The city swelled with life in the past fifteen years, and was thriving until recently, when the incident occurred. In a freak accident, the copper mine partially collapsed -- and as a result, nearly all the men were killed. Left behind are sons who were too young to work, men who were too old or sick, the town’s drunken sheriff, and all the women. With no aid from the outside world, the women of Copperton have been left to lead the town, and to protect it from the gangs that roam the land.
iii. character descriptions
Character: “A”
Age: 30+
Status: Open.
Originally from Missouri, A came out west with her family and friends fifteen years ago. She was a part of the first group to help settle Copperton, and helped to lay down the very foundation of some of the town’s original buildings, which she takes a great deal of pride in. While the men began the mining, A was responsible for much of the town’s overall development, and was very proactive in helping to establish the businesses that helped the town to thrive. As one of the most well-regarded women in town, A married a similarly well-liked man, and settled into life in Copperton. Though she could not profess to love her husband, she did consider him to be a friend. Their marriage worked, and the two were looked on with high esteem in town -- they were sometimes jokingly looked on as the mayor and the first lady. Life in Copperton was hard work, but for A it was worth it to have something that was her own -- something that was made with her blood, sweat, and tears.
After the mine shaft collapsed, A’s husband was lost along with most of the town’s men. Despite having never loved the man, the tragedy struck A hard, and she was distraught to find that most of the newly-made widows of Copperton looked to her for guidance. Since the incident, A has become the de facto leader of the town, though it was never her intention to seek explicit power. She has been doing her best in the position, but finds it to be filled with immense stress and strife.
Character: “B”
Age: 20+
Status: Open.
Born and raised in New York City to immigrants, B was the middle child of seven children, and lived in poverty. Her earliest memories were colored by sleeplessness and hunger, and she began working in a factory to support her family alongside her elder siblings at the age of 9. She toiled unhappily in this work for several years, and eventually ran away from home when she was thirteen years old. Since that time, she’s floated from place to place, and carried various odd-jobs in order to support herself. B was seventeen when she fell in with sex work -- a choice she made on her own, and one she did shamelessly. The job brought her more money than she’d been able to make before, and with the money came opportunities she’d not had before. Specifically, B was able to hire tutors and to recover the education that had been lost to her as a child. Eventually, B’s line of work earned her a place on a caravan of prostitutes traveling out west. B found herself working in Long Locks, a brothel in the town of Copperton. Her line of work allowed her to become privately well-off in the town, but she continued to live a humble life in order to amass her wealth.
Things changed after the mine shaft collapsed, taking most of the town’s men with it. The lack of a customer base led to her employer abandoning the brothel, and most of her employees left with the madam. B remained behind, and opted to take the empty brothel and convert it into a schoolhouse for the children of Copperton. Unlike the other women of the town, B does not necessarily see the death of the men as a tragedy that cannot be moved on from -- she believes Copperton could have a future, just as it is.
iv. plot
Without the men of Copperton, the town has been thrown into a frenzy. What will we do for money? What will we do if bandits come? How will we survive? For all of these questions, they look desperately to A. In an effort to steer the town safely through this process, A has been looking for the answers to their questions. What few men remain seem either incapable or utterly unwilling to provide help: the elderly can only do so much, and their town sheriff is getting on in age and is often too deep in his drinks to do little more than stumble about with a gun in his belt. She is aware that the utter lack of men in the town makes them painfully vulnerable to attacks from gangs.
One viable resource has presented itself: the Smith Ventures Company, a mining company that has expressed an interest in buying the mine out from the women of Copperton. In exchange for the purchase, delegates from the company have offered to send a trainload of men to the town, and to alleviate the economic burden that has been placed onto the ladies. After the transaction, the town would hold onto five percent of the mine -- with the other ninety-five belonging to the company. Although it is the best -- and frankly, only -- option that A has been presented with, she hesitates to make the sale. After years of effort in building up Copperton and making it their own, it seems wrong to throw it all away in the face of strife.
B, who considers Copperton to be home just as it is, befriends A and offers an alternative: rather than bring in men to save them, they simply save themselves. She suggests that they learn what they need to about the mine, hire outside labor where needed to extract the copper, and run the economy of the town on their own. In regards to gang violence, B’s suggestion is simple: they ought to buy guns, and learn how to shoot them.
v. ending notes & comments.
i liked the show godless, but i felt like it really did the whole bait and switch on the concept -- i wanted it to be about the women of la belle, and i felt like it failed a little in bringing forth that story. thus, this plot!! a story that i would like to be about the LADIES, and their choice to stand up for themselves and prove that they don’t need men to run the town. i think it would also be really interesting to involve the concept of outside threats, like bandits and gangs.
all ages may inquire about writing, 18+ if you’re looking to write anything sexual. fading to black is always cool.

ii. setting
THEN:
A kingdom is thrust into confusion and chaos when the young king dies suddenly, overtaken by an illness that sweeps through the land. Leaving behind a grieving widow and family, the king uses his final hours to issue an order to a trusted advisor--the king’s young children must be protected at all costs, and the heir guided carefully. The newly-named Lord Protector vows to carry this order to the letter, but cannot deny the attraction of ruling through--and for--the young heir, rather than supporting him. The weeks following the king’s death are shaky and tense, and the lack of a coronation for the young prince leaves the royal family uncertain and suspicious. As outside threats who covet the throne begin to loom, the widowed Queen and Dowager Queen plot together to flee into sanctuary with the children. When the Lord Protector stylizes himself as king, they abandon the palace.
Spirited away into sanctuary with the children in tow, the two women conspire to flee once more to a neighboring kingdom where they might gain support for the heir’s claim. The nearby kingdom is ruled by a daughter of the Dowager Queen, and it is believed she will act on behalf of her nephew. Unfortunately, before they can make their move, their plot is uncovered. Both of the king’s children are demanded to be handed over to the Lord Protector--who has cited their protection as a top priority. The Lord Protector promises to coronate the heir after this has occurred, and gives the two women one day to relinquish the children. With little recourse, they submit--but not before finding a replacement for the younger of the two children. While the heir and a stranger are taken and detained, the remaining heir of the king is handed off to a loyalist and taken far out of the capital. The former Queen and Dowager Queen linger in the capital, unable to leave the kingdom.
Within one year of this event, both heirs are pronounced dead and buried quietly, their graves left unmarked. The killer remains a mystery, though many point to the Lord Protector--now the undisputed King--as the culprit. The act divides the kingdom into two camps of loyalists (one for the former dynasty, and one for the new), and the surge of loyalty to the deceased king gives the two former Queens the protection they need to escape the kingdom. Having fallen out of contact with the loyalists charged with the protection of her younger child, the Queen and her mother-in-law are forced to leave without the only remaining heir. They leave the kingdom behind, but not before spreading an insidious rumor meant to shake the throne: only one of the two heirs are dead.
NOW:
Over a decade later, the kingdom continues to be raddled with issues. The former Lord Protector-turned-King still sits the throne, and has endured skirmishes and petty violence against other claimants for years. Now with an heir of his own, he feels relatively confident in his place--though he remains tortured with whispers of the alleged escaped heir of the king. This disconcerting attitude rises when a new rumor reaches his ear: in the neighboring kingdom rumored to host members of the former royal family, a young adolescent has appeared claiming to be the true heir to the throne.
Brought to the court of their aunt, A has lived a life shrouded in secrecy and hidden from the public eye. Raised believing that they are the true heir to a throne occupied by a traitor, they have vengeance in mind. Though their mother has passed away in the time since she sent them away, A’s grandmother remains alive. Confident that A is their grandchild, the Dowager Queen begins to groom A for their rightful role as ruler. War is on the horizon, and they will need allies.
iii. character descriptions
Character: “A”
Age: 20+
Status: Open.
The alleged heir of the deceased king, and the younger sibling of the murdered prince. A was scarcely more than a toddler when the events leading to the ascension of the Lord Protector occurred, but nonetheless feels a sense of duty to exact revenge. A has sparse memories of their life as royalty before it all went to hell--but truthfully, it’s hard to tell if they are true memories or the memories supplanted by their many protectors over the years. The majority of their life was spent in hiding, living under pseudonyms. Oftentimes, highborn loyalists to their mother and grandmother had them live with villagers to conceal their identity. This background has given A the sense that they understand the common people far better than any other ruler before them. This lifestyle also offered A only a rudimentary education, though they showed a talent for fighting early on that was thereafter molded into a military mind. A thirsts for war, perhaps more than the actual crown.
Returned to their supposed family by a loyalist to the deceased King, A was not initially believed to be the heir. After careful questioning and some time spent amongst their aunt and grandmother, they were accepted--though in the private mind of their grandmother, A’s identity is not entirely certain. In the past few years after A arrived at their aunt’s court, they have gained a proper education and culturing to befit their station. However, A is not always perfect in this role--and finds themselves frustrated by this reality. In an effort to pose as the type of heir they believe they are meant to be, A has a personality that can verge upon arrogant or entitled. Although A understands the need for allies, they are growing tired of waiting to fight.
Character: “B”
Age: 20+
Status: Open. I have a slight preference for this character, but I’ll write either one.
B is the heir to one of the wealthiest families in the former Lord Protector’s kingdom. Commanding significant power in the land, they are considered something of a whip amongst the nobility. Though B’s family were fiercely loyal to the first king, after the ascension of the Lord Protector they appeared to quickly shift sides. In the time that has elapsed since he took power, B’s family have been among his chief allies. Despite this appearance, the reality is largely to the contrary: B’s family are allied with the family of the former king, and seek the return of the fabled heir to the throne. It was B’s family who helped to smuggle the child A claims to be out of the capital in the first place--and in fact, the royal heir stayed in B’s estate for a short two weeks before being relocated again. B and A were playmates for that short time.
Feigning concern for the new King’s reign, B’s family offers to send B to the neighboring kingdom in order to determine once and for all if A is a pretender or not, with the argument that B had met A at court when they were children. The King permits the trip, and B is sent to court to meet A. Their true mission is to determine if A really is the legitimate heir to the throne, and to report back to their own family. If the news is positive, B’s family will gather the loyalists in the kingdom and provide A with soldiers for the war to come.
Although B is meant to want A to be the heir, they are hesitant in confirming the rumors. After living through several attempted coups and violence against the former lord protector, B does not desire war. Furthermore, they do not want to see the innocent child of the former lord protector killed because of the actions of their father. Although B is a talented politicker and understands courtly manner well, they are uncomfortable in this new court, and seem to avoid A as often as they can.
iv. plot
B's arrival at court is a signal to A that the time of dallying around and waiting to take back the throne may be at an end. Coached by their aunt and grandmother about who B is and the relation they have to their family, A is tasked with convincing B that they are the true heir to the throne. Although B would like to believe that A is telling the truth, doubt flickers in their mind--as does a fear of what will come if A really is the heir. A, desperate to go to war, is obsessed with proving themselves to B. B becomes obsessed with trying to recall far-distant memories of the child that lived in their home for a short two weeks, and strives to find some familiarity amongst that child and the person who now stands before them.
v. ending notes & comments.
pretty possible that the sheer length of the background here will keep people from being interested, but i’m a rambler ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ any-who:
open to all ages for writing. smut is fine, fading to black is fine. 18+ for the former.
i’m always happy to hear feedback on plots. if this interests you but there are certain things you’d like to add or remove, we can talk about it!
i don’t do applications! just send me a message/ask if you’re interested :]
follow-up: if you LIKE this post, i will message YOU!
also: i’ve left it purposefully vague on whether or not A really is the lost heir. I think it will be interesting to have A really question that themselves and have an identity crisis over it. we can discuss if they are/are not. [:
