Day 10: Show Us Your Stash #GreatBritishQuilter 🇬🇧 ✂✂✂✂✂ YES, today I’m sharing my stash photos; you'll see it’s not a huge stash 😇 - my husband thinks it is, but as quilters we know differently - judge for yourselves 🧐 ✂✂✂✂✂ Interested in knowing a bit more about how I store everything? Here’s the low-down: ✂✂✂✂✂ I divide my fabrics into the following groups: ▪100% cotton quilting weight prints – these are organised by colour and make up the bulk of my stash. ▪Liberty lawns/Kaffe Fasset/Textured and tone on tone solids ▪Kid/Novelty prints ▪Black & White/Greys/Neutrals ▪Cotton+Linen blends ▪Batiks/Japanese/African/Indian fabrics ▪Woollens/Décor weight ▪Flannel/Sherpa/Fleece ▪Laminates and leather ▪Solids ▪Seasonal ▪Speciality fabrics – marbling, satins, silks, tulle, etc ✂✂✂✂✂ The majority of my stash is stored in this @Ikeausa #Hemnes bookcase. Flip through the photos to see a vid of how I fold fabrics to fit perfectly on the shelves – 6 piles fit on each shelf. I used to stand fabrics up on end but discovered I can store more this way, they’re stable and can be lifted out easily to remove or add to it and without making a mess of the whole shelf. If you move home regularly as I have (3 homes in 10 months) this method is easy to pack/unpack, lift them off the shelves a pile at a time, straight into a small packing box – and same in reverse at the other end – no pressing/refolding/sorting. ✂✂✂✂✂ Anything not in this bookcase is in a basket, usually on top of the bookcase but that didn’t work out in our current rental so they are piled on the floor in a storage room. ✂✂✂✂✂ Scraps and selvedges are stored separately – more about them coming up on Day 25 of the #GreatBritishQuilter ✂✂✂✂✂ #mystash #fabriccollection #mysewingspace #fabriclove #fabricheaven #sewist #quilter #Ikea #Hemnes @sarahashfordstudios @verykerryberry #mbCD #madebyChrissieD https://www.instagram.com/p/BnhoyiZhb0a/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1q4stqf6x81dp
