This is the first serious witchcraft I’ve done in about a year, so I wanted to share. I made this to primarily protect my home from break ins and my things from harm. I did throw in a few things for non-physical entities, but it wasn’t the primary focus here. I also used blood magick which I normally avoid, mostly because I don’t like bleeding my own blood. If that’s not your thing, you could still do half the spell.
A Nail (rusty is good, but not necessary)
Thorny bits (anything pokey and sharp)
Ashes from Frankincense Incense
It’s a lot of things, I know. Feel free to substitute things out, although the Cumin mixed with the Frankincense ashes is more of a single ingredient here. I loaded it down because I’m paranoid about my new apartment. So, this is for when you really feel like your home is unsafe. Onto the instructions!
Prepare a white bag. You can sew it yourself or use a drawstring bag like one of these. They’re pretty cheap. I like to sew my own and let the Frankincense burn while I do. Make sure there’s something there to collect the ashes.
Mix the ashes and cumin together first. Add in the other herbs as you wish. Get it all mixed up good before adding the hazelnuts. I burned my hazelnuts to a crisp (plus they’ve been sitting in storage for years) so it was easy to crush up along with the herbs. Add a bit of your own hair cut into small pieces for easier mixing.
Add your harder materials: the beans, rice, and barley. Give those a good mix. Drop the egg-shaped rock, thorny bits, and nail into your bag before pouring your concoction over them.
Now it’s time to sew your bag shut. If you have a drawstring bag, you can tie it, but I did create a particular imagery for mine. If it looks like a cyclops vomiting tar to you in the picture, you aren’t far off from what I was going for. So, first I sewed the bag shut. Then I sewed a button on each side. I folded it over so that the white button was hidden and sewed that fold on the sides only to hold it in place.
Next I took a long strip of black cloth and cut it into shredded bits on one side. Then I strung it all together on the unshredded side by sliding it all on the needle bit by bit, pulling it into a bunch, then wrapping the thread around a few times before sewing the tops together. If that makes any sense. Now take your bunch and shove it into the fold unceremoniously and sew it in. You now have your vomiting cyclops.
Now get out your hemp rope/twine and a very thin strip of white cloth. It’s time to braid! Cut three even lengths of twine. Add your long strip of cloth and tie them all together. As you braid, keep your white strip of cloth lined up with the middle piece of twine. As you braid, you can include a prayer, write your own verbal component, or focus intensely on keeping others out. I opted for the last. I intented really hard on this one.
Now that your braid is done, you can tie it around the button and hang it on your door or over the door. Either works. If you don’t want to include blood in this, you’re pretty much done. If blood magick is cool with you, move on to step 8.
Because I very much wanted to be safe in my new place, I decided to add a bit of my own blood. I cut my finger and wrapped the twine around the cut so the blood would soak into it. The rope is the best place to apply the blood for this spell.
Once I’d hung the sachet on the door, I stood and concentrated on the link between me and my blood on the rope. I did this for a long time. I concentrated on the link and I concentrated on how very much I wanted people to stay out. I was very intense on that one. It was visceral. Snarl and growl if you feel the urge.
Once I felt the connection and intent was strong enough at the door, I started to move. And I kept the connection from my wounded finger to the rope, pulling it along with me. You should be ale to feel the tug when you do this. I went from the front door to each door and window in my apartment in a circle until I came back to the front door, stopping to create a barrier at each like the first. Spend some time at the front door again when you get back to it. Make sure the barrier is continuous and holding well.
It’s an intense spell that took me a total of five hours to do, but I highly value my safety. Your time will likely vary. Hopefully, someone else can use this or draw inspiration from it.
