SPN POETRY MONTH Day 6: ‘You Never Let me Say It Back’
When I first saw the prompt I instantly thought of Cas’ love confession and how Dean obviously didn’t get to say I love you back. He would be angry as all hell at Cas because of it. However in writing it I realised Cas wasn’t really the person Dean would be angry at. He’d be mad at himself for holding it back but then would also feel justified for doing so because in the end, Cas did die because he loved Dean.

SPN POETRY MONTH Day 5: Family (derogatory)
When it comes to John and Dean’s relationship, it’s all about reading between the lines.

SPN POETRY MONTH Day 19: Gender
You can’t give me a prompt like ‘gender’ and expect me not to address Dean’s issues with toxic masculinity and internalised homophobia. So, here you go.

POETRY MONTH Day 27: Bodies
A poem for early season Castiel, reflecting on what it’s like to have a body as an angel (Erdrich Horror) the size of the Chrysler building while toying with religious imagery. I also thought it would be interesting to explore the idea of Dean almost instantly ‘renaming’ Castiel- ‘Cas’ as the suffix ‘iel’ generally means ‘of God’. So one of the first things Dean did was strip him of his holiness, and Cas, angel of the lord, more or less rolled with it.

SPN POETRY MONTH Day 16: Weapons
I tried to play with the space a little bit today and attempted to make each paragraph resemble a gun. It only vaguely worked, but an attempt was made.

SPN POETRY MONTH Day 2: Minor/ Underrated Character
I decided to write a poem themed around my favourite ‘Biker Barbie,’ Claire. As I wrote I found it turned more into an exploration of her and Castiel’s relationship. It’s messy, complicated and contradictory. I wish it was explored more in the show.
