he’s always really anxious about seeing the doctor because he dreads finding out what his weight is
he brings this up in therapy one day and Mendel says, “So don’t look.” and Marvin is like “Uh...what.” and Mendel says, “Don’t look. Face the other way and ask the nurse not to tell you. Simple.” and Marvin has a much easier time at the doctor’s after that
he loves big hoodies because they’re a little baggy and hide the fact that he has a big belly. Whizzer loves his big hoodies because he steals them to wear around the apartment.
sometimes if they’re getting ready to go out for a nice dinner, Marvin will look at Whizzer and start comparing Whizzer’s body to his own and feeling badly about himself. and when Whizzer inevitably notices, he’ll go over and put his hands on Marvin’s belly and will say, “Marvin, you are gorgeous. Every part of you is gorgeous, and your beauty is more than just your physical features, it’s your strength and compassion and love. Don’t ever compare yourself to anybody else based on physical features, because your features are yours and that makes them beautiful.” and Marvin cries and they probably cancel dinner because now all Marvin wants to do is cuddle with Whizzer all night.
when Marvin decides to make it a priority to get in better shape, Whizzer is with him 100% every step of the way. he starts cooking healthier foods and keeping unhealthy foods out of the house and goes with Marvin to the gym and for runs around the neighborhood. Marvin has tried this before, but he’s never been as motivated as when he has Whizzer by his side.
