the jeep is really important to stiles right, everyone knows this, and yet.. off the top of my head..

peter fucked it up, erica knocked him out with a part she took out, scott - supposed bestie - repeatedly hit it in s1 and got stiles to (carefully) rear-end a car and then in s2, y'know.. after the kidnapping and torturing that somehow went unnoticed, got stiles to drive through a wall because scott needed him (i don't think the wall part was a necessity but listen. stiles is the master of 'go big or go home' and scott has known him forever. scott said 'get here quick' and stiles DELIVERED)

derek, however, fixed the jeep and kept it safe

stiles and derek's son eli is from an epilogue at the end of the show itself. it was after the episode where scott lost all his werewolf power and derek became the alpha permanently. remember?? it was followed by that really cute scene of the pack rebuilding the hale house! erica, boyd, and issac attempting home improvement was hilarious, stiles stressing over his found family using power tools until derek has to make him sit down and remember that "they are literally werewolves they'll be fine" before sending stiles to his dads house to make cookies and fuss over someone else for a bit *chefs kiss* it was perfect

i get why people write married serek with hyphened last names i guess but personally?? i love when stiles takes derek's last name

because i do

because i think carrying on the hale name as-is is important to derek, and i think it would be important to stiles too as his mate. derek has lost everything else, but he has his last name, and that last name has held power and respect and awe since.. forever. it has history and a legacy. and even though derek would change his last name for stiles with no hesitation, stiles wouldn't ask him to do that. not that his own last name isn't important, but it's different.

the stilinski-hale or hale-stilinski pack, to outsider wolves, doesn't mean as much. and the older ones who are more about tradition would see it as a negative against derek, against his presence and capability as an alpha. derek doesn't see it that way of course, and he doesn't care much what other people think of him, but STILES cares. because his alpha and mate deserves nothing but the highest respect (from anyone not a part of their pack) (the pack gets away with their shenanigans) (though there is a limit. pack-mom stiles is not to be messed with when it comes to his man okay)

this seems to really only happen when they're talking about derek and derek's choices and its really fucking annoying. like.. i get it. he's not your fave, you thought he was too weird and creepy the first two seasons, but that doesn't make him a bad person

doesnt mean he'd withhold information now, would it?? its almost like a person can learn and grow or something idk, its almost like its a different situation entirely actually because these are derek's betas - he chose them, with a sane mind, and only gave the bite with consent. he grew up believing the bite was a gift, his mother told him that, why the fuck would he abuse something that his mother made sure he knew was important, something that held a level of understanding, that would connect him to others as a pack??

there's a lot that comes with the bite and nobody on the show is going to know that better than derek. to assume he'd lie or withhold important information just to get these teenagers to say yes shows not only the most surface level half-assed knowledge of his character but it also greatly dismisses his own traumas - like.. say.. being used by someone you thought you could trust who didnt give you the whole truth.

man feels responsible for the death of his entire family. he doesnt want to be responsible for more deaths. he isn't peter, he isn't heartless or insane, and he also isn't dumb. a great decision maker?? not always. but that doesnt make him dumb. and it definitely doesnt make him cruel enough to be a fucking liar about something as major as the very present dangers of being a werewolf with a hunting family in town

i'm an hour and nineteen minutes into this two hour and three minute rundown of seasons one and two and its entertaining but there have certainly been some fuckin Moments
