Myth-Busting Monday
Every tech shift has its doubters.
Typewriter fans said computers were “too fragile.”
Manual car drivers said automatics were “for people who can’t drive.”
Today? “Paper is more secure” is the same story.
Myth: Paper is safer because I can touch it and lock it up.
Reality: That locked drawer doesn’t tell you who peeked at the file last Tuesday. Or who made a photocopy. Or which version is the real one.
Encrypted digital files do:
Bank-level encryption that typewriters could never dream of. Audit trails showing who viewed, edited, signed — down to the second. Backed up off-site, safe from fire, floods, and “I left it in a taxi”. Information cannot be erased using TIPEX.
Paper gets lost. Stolen. Burned. Soaked in liquid. And you’ll never know who did it.
Digital leaves receipts. Paper leaves questions.
The typewriter crowd eventually switched. The manual drivers now sit in traffic with one foot free.
Time to stop doubting and start securing.
