While communing with the mighty Tiamat, she bequeathed to me a power fraught with risk, but great with reward. Most clerics have the "Bless" ability, granting allies a +1 bonus to attack rolls. I could grant you this, or I could set your blood aflame, surging with adrenaline, granting +1 to attack, growing each turn. However, if the bonus would exceed +10, it instead resets to +1, and deals damage to you equal to 1/2 your current health. Which would you prefer?

Just a thought

For the most part people love movies that end with happily ever after but so often, no matter how great the movie was, it's sequels tend to flop. I was thinking that perhaps it's because the sequels take away the happily ever after and the mystery of what happens after the movie? I mean they say HEA (sick of typing happily ever after out every time) but in order to make a sequel a conflict has to happen, right? But if something happens it shatters the HEA part of the first movie. They don't say 'happily until some bad shit goes down,' it's supposed to be eternal. But when I was younger I thought the sequels were just shitty movies. I think I was wrong. I mean, yeah, there might be some that had no thought or effort added when making them but I can't shun all sequels because of that.

Looking back at, let's say, Mulan 2, we can look at the plot: not bad actually. China is gonna get screwed royally if they don't have a prince from I don't remember where marry one of the emperors daughter. Shit happens and Mulan faces numerous problems. Nothing really wrong there. Animation: A bit iffy at times but not bad. Voices and music: All good for me (at least I remember it being fine). Lines: Not bad. But I wouldn't rush to see it again. Why? Because the life I imagined her having gets smashed to pieces and they make me angry by ruining her HEA, ruining what she earned in the first movie. She sacrifices everything and the second movie rips it apart and tries to make it endearing.

It just doesn't work for me. What about other sequels? There are some it works for and some it doesn't. Little Mermaid 2? I'd say it doesn't work. I just sit there feeling so bad for Ariel that I don't give any thought to the daughter. Cinderella 2? My memory's a little fuzzy but I think I liked it. They pull in the sisters and redeems them a bit. Not a perfect movie but I don't sit there pitying Cinderella the whole time. Etc., etc., etc.

Well, don't know how I should end this but this is just an idea/theory I thought while I ate dinner and was wondering if this had any validity to it.

Emily: You can't use "Pie."

Me: You can't name a kid "Ice Cream." You can't name them "Ice" or "Cream" either.

Emily: Rappers took "Ice."

Me: "Cream" Is just creepy.

Me: You can't name a kid "Fudge."

Me: You can't name a kid "Pasta."
