Modern Hades Aesthetic: ‘You are the kindest thing that ever happened to me, even if that is not how our story is told. When everyone else told me I was destined to be a forgotten nymph, that nurtured flowers and turned meadows gold, you saw the ichor that resides in me, demanding its own throne: You showed me, how a love like ours can turn, even the darkest, coldest realm, into the happiest of homes.’ -Nikita Gill

Orpheus and Eurydice - Orpheus, son of Apollo, fell in love with a beautiful woman named Eurydice. They married but tragedy fell when a snake killed her. Stricken with grief, he went to Hades to get Eurydice back. Hades allowed under one condition: Orpheus must walk out of the Underworld following the light but he must never look at her before leaving the light. He agreed but having believed that he’s been fooled, he turned around and saw that Eurydice was behind him before being whisked back into the Underworld.

"Moisa, tell me the deeds of golden Aphrodite, who stirs up sweet passion in the gods and subdues the tribes of mortal men and birds that fly in air and all the many creatures that the dry land rears, and all the sea. Hail, goddess, queen of well-builded Kypros! With you have I begun; now I will turn me to another hymn."
