It was 💔ing , but I also knew it was my chance to pursue my passions in health and wellness. I immediately enrolled myself at @nutritionschool two weeks later and decided to take my blogging full time. It was a scary decision considering I had no idea whether or not I would fail and have to go back to some tech 9-5 while my dreams just sat on the shelf. I came home from New York and hit the ground running. It's been non stop in #mytinycorner with all the fun admin stuff that most bloggers/creatives/business owners rarely share. Ya know the piles of bills and taxes that have to be paid so that we can keep the lights on too! I've been so busy that meal prepping and cooking has been the last thing on my list of things to do, but healthy eating is always a top priority. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Thankfully @gomethodology rescued me from take out, @innout, and @chipotlemexicangrill runs this week. What drew me to their services they create personalized, nourishing meals, made with love, and delivered right to your door. Their meals are made with no processed ingredients and the menus are a foodie's dream come true! #whatsonmyplate thanks to @gomethodology was Mediterranean Chicken Kofta w/ rainbow chard, and cumin spiced carrots. The rest of my meals are blackened cod w/mango salsa, Italian Beef Bolognese, and Salmon Cakes. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I love prepping my own meals because typically I'm in the kitchen experimenting and finding ways to make restaurant style flavors in healthier cleaner versions. But when I'm too busy and can "outsource" my prepping through someone else, it helps me focus on family time, school, and work. New week, new words. Same message, same purpose. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ When I started my fitness journey I stopped setting goals and starting stating my intentions. In our home the word intention holds powerful meaning. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Time to be 💯REAL (as I am always). Since getting laid off in October I have struggled with ambivalence around my fitness "goals". A lot of the root cause of it was because of the sudden change in my entire life. I was used to commuting an hour to and from work M-F and that all of a sudden changed. Even though I couldn't be more thrilled for my new career change, I had this schedule for almost 5 years and now I had to create a new one revolving school, a freelance career, and an entirely new shift of home life. In a lot of ways I underestimated how much of an energy shift I would undergo. On top of the new change of work/school schedule shift was a complete shift in my workout schedule. I no longer had the restriction of working out at 5am due to work and had the freedom to workout "whenever". I have the ability to hang with the kids more than I ever had and have had the chance to spend lots more time with my husband. All things I wouldn't give up for a 6 pack. BUT I've struggled to find my groove of what works in this "new" life of mine. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Just last week after finally getting over my cold and consistently training before 7am I told my husband, "I think I'm finally consistently back to my old self." He smiled. Maybe I didn't trust my new life, maybe I didn't trust myself. Who knows. However instead of ruminating over "I shoulda" or "I coulda", which just often leads me to feeling like shit, I'm grateful for this "setback" because for a brief moment I felt a bit of that pre #gofitjo mindset who was starting to become disappointed in herself. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If you find yourself on the path of self disappointment, just pause. ⚡️TRUST YOURSELF ⚡️There's no other person more capable or powerful to change the course of your happiness than you. You are incredibly capable of moving your own mountains. Intention is a force in the universe, everyone and everything is connected to this force. Do you remember when you were little and you told you parents that you wanted to become an astronaut 👩‍🚀, or a firefighter 👩‍🚒, or in Olivia's case, a zookeeper? We used to dream so ridiculously BIG. And then reality decided to knock on the door. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Today, while I was training 🏋🏾‍♀️ I was thinking about how we often place limitations on ourselves on our fitness goals and in our own personal and professional lives. Dreaming small and living small does no one any justice. When you dream big, you pave the road for others to do the same. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Whether you're dream of a 6 pack, toned arms, or a bigger 🍑 or dreaming of pursuing your passions, traveling the 🌎, or searching for ❤️; I double dog dare you to dream big. Today #mytinycorner is complete thanks to this brand new @letterfolk board. This morning as I was pulling apart the letters to lay down a phrase I thought, what phrase that will get you moving? What is your intention? State your purpose. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ As I started to lay down the words I couldn’t help but cry, the word relentless has been one I used to describe my efforts in life after my previous CEO and I had a conversation about the transformation he saw in me as a leader at the company. He mentioned my relentless drive to be better not because I was out to prove to someone that I was, but because I was out to prove to myself that I can become more. He said that putting my health first was the best thing I did for myself, my family, and for his company as an employee. It’s a day that I’ll truly never forget. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #relentlesslybeautiful over the course of the past few years has taken on so many different means. When I attach the word “LIFE” to it, I think about what we are all trying to do as human beings which is to create the life we want to live. #relentlesslybeautifullife for me is that simple reminder to keep growing, pushing, and defining success in all that we do. Society tells us that success equals financial wealth. But for me I define my success by the amount of joy I’m having in pursuing my passions. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Success to me is the following: 1. Living healthy and happy pursuing your dreams. 2. Buying a home with a backyard for my daughters to play in, host small intimate dinners with friends, and to sit and relax while enjoying the sun. 3. Traveling the world with my family. 4. Having the financial freedom to not have to worry about the necessities (because living in the Bay Area aint cheap!) 5.
