From September to the end of March my weekends are hockey hockey...and more hockey. But the past two weekends were extra special. It was minor hockey week!
My oldest earned the GOLDEN JERSEY (given to one player after each game who displays leadership qualities, heart, and skill on the ice), and his team won bronze in the tournament! He even scored his first goal!!
My youngest earned Player of the game for the final day of the tournament, and his team finished the week undefeated!
I can’t say enough about this sport, or what it has done for my children’s confidence in themselves. They have truly blossomed, and learned so many life lessons in this sport already. Leadership, team work, self discipline, how to win and lose with grace, how to be a coachable person, and so much more.
We are now entering the final two months of hockey season. I then get a 3 week break before we switch modes to Baseball/Soccer for my youngest. The eldest has decided to take a break from sport this spring, and do musical theatre camp this summer instead! I seriously love watching my kids grow, explore, and find their things! Not gonna lie- anytime I look at those photos and see the pride in THEMSELVES in their eyes, I tear up. Love my boys. <3
