A/N: idk how did this one turned out?? I hope it’s good enough🫣
As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm golden glow over the bustling city at Unova, N found himself wandering through the streets with a sense of anticipation. He had heard whispers, rumors that a familiar face had returned to the city after a long absence. And deep within his heart, he hoped that those rumors were true. His heart raced as he finally spotted the silhouette he had longed to see. There you were, standing on a street corner, your smile as radiant as he remembered. With a quickened pace, N approached, his heart pounding in his chest.
"y/n!" he called out, his voice filled with a mix of surprise and delight. You turned toward the sound, your eyes widening as you met his gaze. "N?" you exclaimed, your voice tinged with disbelief.
The two of you closed the distance, and before you knew it, you were wrapped in a warm embrace, the years apart melting away in an instant. N's arms encircled you, his touch sending a rush of familiar comfort through your veins.
"It's really you," N murmured, his voice soft as he held you close. You pulled back slightly, gazing up at him with a fond smile. "I can't believe you're here. It's been so long." The two of you spent hours catching up, sharing stories of the time apart. Laughter filled the air as you recounted childhood memories, and N's eyes sparkled with genuine happiness, his heart swelling with each moment you shared.
As the night deepened, you mentioned your partner Pokémon, an enigmatic cat Pokémon known as Meowscarada, who had been by your side all this time. N's curiosity was piqued, and you reached into your bag, releasing the Pokéball that held your beloved companion. With a flash of light, Meowscarada materialized before you, its form an imposing yet intriguing sight. N's eyes widened in awe as he observed the unique Pokémon.
"Meowscarada," you said affectionately, "meet N. N, this is Meowscarada." N regarded the Pokémon with a mixture of wonder and respect. He extended his hand, allowing Meowscarada to nuzzle against his palm, its presence both captivating and mysterious.
"An extraordinary Pokémon," N mused, his voice filled with admiration. Meowscarada's keen gaze shifted between you and N, as it seemed to sense the connection that lingered between the two of you. There was an unspoken understanding in its eyes, a knowledge of the feelings that had endured over the years. Unbeknownst to the two of you, Meowscarada had sensed the mutual affection that still bound you and N together. It was as if the Pokémon could perceive the emotions that danced beneath the surface, the unspoken longing that had persisted.
In a whimsical and calculated display, Meowscarada gracefully moved towards N, its bípedo form swaying like a dancer as it brushed affectionately against his side. With a flourish, it then turned its attention to you. Meowscarada's movements were deliberate, its actions a clever illusion, encouraging both you and N to embrace the emotions that pulsed beneath the surface. As it lowered itself gracefully, you felt a gentle touch – a reassuring caress of its leafy mask against your cheek, a gesture that seemed to transcend the boundaries of the physical and the magical. In that moment, Meowscarada's enchanting aura enveloped you both, guiding you towards a deeper connection and a shared acknowledgement of the unspoken feelings that bloomed between you.
N's gaze met yours, a mixture of emotions swirling in his eyes. Meowscarada's actions had ignited a spark of courage within him, an urge to finally express what he had kept hidden. "(Y/N)," he began, his voice soft yet determined, "there's something I've wanted to say."
Your heart raced as you met his gaze, your curiosity piqued. "What is it, N?"
With a deep breath, N took a step closer, his hand reaching out to gently cup your cheek. "From the moment we met all those years ago, my heart was captivated by you. And even though time and distance have separated us, my feelings have only grown stronger." A rush of emotion surged through you, your heart pounding in your chest. "N…"
"I don't want to waste any more time," N continued, his voice filled with sincerity. "I want to be by your side, y/n, not as just friends, but as something more." Tears welled up in your eyes as you realized that the feelings you had held onto for so long were reciprocated. With a smile that radiated happiness, you nodded, your voice filled with warmth. "N, I feel the same way."
In that moment, the world seemed to fade away, leaving only the two of you and the towering cat that had orchestrated this heartfelt confession. Meowscarada watched with satisfaction, its mission to bring two hearts together accomplished.
As N pulled you into a tender embrace, you felt a sense of completeness that you had yearned for over the years. The city around you seemed to come alive with a newfound magic, and in the presence of the enigmatic Pokémon that had silently championed your love, you and N embarked on a new chapter of your journey – hand in hand, hearts entwined, and a future filled with boundless possibilities.

N - “I can't take my eyes off you.”:
You sighed in relief, feeling N going inside of you finally. He had been a gentleman, he really did, but to the point of making sure you were prepared for anything when all you wanted to do was feel him inside of you.
"You feel wonderful, love." He said, brushing some strange of hair our of his face so he could see you clearly, "I can't take my eyes off you." He admitted and you chuckles, bending over to kiss him.
"Likewise." You shifted in his lap, "Now may I ride you or do you want me to warm you up first?" You asked, batting your eyelashes at him. He gave a nervous chuckle, not being used to any amount of dirty talk.
"Y-you can uh." He began and you lifted your hips on him, then sunk back down and making him throw his head back. You peppered some kisses along his cheeks and forehead, savoring the sensation of the two of you finally becoming one.
Summary;; You surprise N while he's practicing his new routine.
My Masterlist
He glided across the ice. The blades scratched and clanged, the sound filling the small stadium. There was a chill in the air, just as one would expect from an ice skating rink. His lips were a touch pale but otherwise his face was blank, his thoughts lost to deep concentration. Determination and perseverance fueled him as he made another jump.
It was a small routine; simple, graceful and elegant. He had practiced for many months just to master the step sequence - the jumps had taken even longer. It was a strain on his body but one he welcomed. The pains and aches left behind an odd satisfaction. Skating offered him solitude and gave him pride.
In no way was he a professional skater and yet here he was, whenever time would allow, perfecting this small, personal routine. Blood, sweat, and tears had built the foundation for it while determination and adoration had built the walls. The roof was his body and soul, both of which had been dedicated to making this small routine special and meaningful.
"Hakyeon," you called, your voice floating through the chilled air as you waved him over.
"I didn't know you'd be stopping in this early. I thought I had more time."
"I wanted to surprise you!" You held up a plastic bag with takeout boxes inside. His skates scratched the ice as he moved toward you, a grin overtaking his features at your next words. "Galbi! Hurry while it's hot!"
"You really are my angel."
"You're welcome!
As soon as you were within reach, his arms were around you and his lips were upon yours. You held the bag behind your back, trying to protect the meat while also trying to pull yourself away from the ice that Hakyeon was inching you closer to with every kiss.
"Thank you, darling," he said, breaking the kiss only to stare into your eyes. His gaze left you wanting, as did his wandering hands. Cold fingertips grazed down your arms until they held your hands, stealing both your warmth and breath. The red lipstick that painted your lips was visible as a faint mark on his. Sweat peeked out from his hairline, threatening to fall down his otherwise smooth face.
With a shake of your head, you pulled back.
Hakyeon! We're going to fall!" You laughed, giving him a nudge once his hold on you loosened. "Come on, silly. Let's eat."
He watched you skip over to the nearest seats, taking out the food and trying to balance it on the chairs. It was destined to fail but you weren't one to give up so easily. That aspect of your personality was something he had always admired. Even as sauce spilled onto the floor and you cried out in surprise, he could tell you weren't ready to give up on your front-row seat. Not when today was a special day.
Today he was showing you his small, personal routine.
This routine was different from any he had done before. This time he was skating to his own music. He choreographed the entire dance on ice from beginning to end, from every jump to every step. Each and every part of the skate was his creation. No one else had seen it before and no one else ever will for this show was for his one and only, for his darling.
This small, personal skate routine was yours and yours alone.

The next morning you walk in the station with your backpack hanging from one of your shoulders, you let yourself fall on your seat and chuckle at the image of Jinyoung sleeping soundly despite the odd and very uncomfortable position on his desk. His head falls sideways on his chair and his feet.
Wonshik walk in, almost dressed up nice and tidy, proud of his uniform, carrying a tray of coffee and some delivered food over to somewhere else.
“Good morning, Lieutenant”, he greets you, bowing his head slightly as he passes by you.
“Morning”, you greet him back, kicking your backpack under your desk, “Gimme some of this coffee”
Wonshik stops by your desk, setting down a plastic cup before pouring coffee in it.
“Another one for the sleepyhead over there”, Wonshik pours the coffee and you add the sugar and cream you know Jinyoung usually adds, “Thanks”
Wonshik goes on his way while you lean over your desk to throw a heavy file on Jinyoung’s table, making him awake, startled.
“Good morning, sleeping beauty!” You laugh as he presses his closed eyelids with his fingers and rubs them, trying to get rid of the tiredness, while tries his best to sit up straight without complaining about the pain.
“Why didn’t you sleep upstairs?” You ask, standing up to place his coffee on his desk.
“We spent the night interrogating the playboy. What time is it?” He asks, still confused and flustered. You look at your watch.
“07AM”
Jinyoung sighs and let his head fall back. “That prick is useless, really.”
“Why?”
“He won’t say anything. Because he doesn’t seem to know, but the forensic team found something”, he says sitting up straight again and reaching for a file to hand over to you when you get it from his hand he goes for his coffee.
Jinyoung sips on the coffee as you read the file.
“What is this crap? Drug-induced amnesia?” You look up in disbelief at Jinyoung sipping on his hot coffee, “Is this real thing?”
“Hmm.” Jinyoung nods, swallowing the hot coffee, “Very much. Apparently the playboy has been playing hard with his options and recently he’s been consulting a countryside traditional doctor that makes herbal tea and traditional medicine. The forensic has a sample we found in his room, they’ll send the results when it’s ready. The bastards get to sleep and still complain about it”, Jinyoung mutters the last phrase in a moody tone as he drinks more of his coffee, “Ah~ I’m hungry now”
“That’s great. Where did we get this from?” You ask trying to read the unrecognizable words in latin or whatever puzzling language that’s written along with the ones you do understand.
“It came from the hospital he was admitted to after the fight with Jongup”, Jinyoung sips on his coffee as he rolls his chair to sit closer to you despite the divide between the desks, “His doctor confessed. There was more than just his usual intake of his usual drugs, including one that’d be most possibly curated by only with a special twist to it.”
You sigh tiredly, edging yourself on your seat. “This could invalidate his signed confession.”
Jinyoung manners his head and shrugs. Then, pauses to look at you closely.
“Lieutenant, you seem to be enjoying this~”
“You’re seeing way too much into it, Detective Park.”
Jinyoung hums to himself with a crooked smile and pushes himself away from your desk.
“I wouldn’t be so happy about it, Lieutenant”, Jinyoung says, knowing your mind has already went back to the possibility of re-investigating the case, assimilating as a serial killing case, “The media is on this like vultures and… I heard the Head Prosecutor wants to wrap this up as soon as possible.”
You throw the closed file on the table at the mention of your still father-in-law, knowing how much of a headstrong the man is. It would take more than your stubbornness to turn this around if the man has his hands on this case.
“If you’re right, it’ll happen again and they won’t be able to blame the playboy again. If we get it before narcotics-” You cut Jinyoung, moving on your seat, feeling unsettled.
“I wish we wouldn’t need another dead body for them to take this seriously. Whoever the killer is escalated from homeless women, to prostitutes, to random girls and people kept sweeping it all under the carpet. Now, with Kim Da Eun’s case-”, you sigh in frustration, pushing your hair back, “Do they just expect a maniac like this to just… Stop?” You chuckle bitterly to yourself, “Head Prosecutor Cha has his head up his ass that might just be true.”
Jinyoung fails at hiding his amusement when you curse your father-in-law.
“I’ll just- You know, pretend I didn’t hear that.” He says, tapping his ears lightly with his first and middle fingers and stops when he stands up and walks backwards from you, “I’ll go grab some breakfast for him, okay? Anything for you, Lieutenant?”
“Egg toast, no bacon. And tomato juice”, Jinyoung nods in response.
As he turns around to leave almost bumps into none other than your Captain, Sung Dong Il, storming into the station. Jinyoung’s unapologetic pushed away by your Captain and turns around with his eyes open wide, brows furrowed in confusion. Not only you, but everyone else in the station watches as the Captain marches in wearing the official uniform. Jinyoung glances at you, trying to figure something out, bt you seem as lost as everyone else.
“Maskot!” You Captain’s outburst makes Wonshik shot up from his seat in alert.
“Yes, Captain!”
“Prepare the conference room. Be fast!”
“Yes, sir.” Wonshik salutes and rushes to do as he’s been told.
“Park Jinyoung!”
Jinyoung points at himself.
“Me?” That makes Dong Il stop throw a glare at him.
“Who else? Get these ready for the conference,” Dongil stops and comes closer to Jinyoung, speaking more quietly. “No one can take a peek, you understand?”
“Yes, Captain.”
“Good.” The man nods, unbottoming his uniform suit, “You’ll be in charge to hold the conference until it’s ready to start. Don’t curse.”
“I wouldn’t.” Dongi snorts at the detective protest before turning to you.
“What?” You ask, annoyed before he can say anything.
“My office. Now.”
He storms off to his office and you follow him with your eyes, before grunting lazily to stand up.
“What’s his problem?” You complain.
“Ah!~ Seriously, working in this department is really stressful!” One of the detectives sitting close to you complains, “Our superiors are always having mood swings. I want to retire.”
“At 35?” You ask the man complaining as he messes up his hair, “Are you crazy?”
“I bet my salary this is about that spidey senses our Lieutenant has.” Jaehwan’s voice is not so subtle as he speaks.
“Hey, I can hear you, asshat!” You throw a pen in his direction without much effort.
“Sorry, Lieutenant.” He sends you an empty apology.
“Don’t you have a goose chase to attend to?” You mock him, recalling his current case.
“Yea, yea… Mock me all you want, Lieutenant. But, when I drag Bang Yongguk in this station with my own hands you’ll be the one to pay for the celebratory dinner!”
“Oh-ho~ Is that so? Really.” You hold back a chuckle, standing up and making your way to the Captain’s office, “Make sure to not bite your own tail in the process, Detective Lee.”
You warn as he clicks his tongue, watching you push the Captain’s door open and disappears inside the office. Jaehwan looks at Jinyoung who’s staring at you through the wall-sized glass window, the blinds are pulled down, but open and the people in the office can only see partially - including Jinyoung. No one can hear anything, but Dongil’s raged expression when he looks up to you worries Jinyoung, although he knows it shouldn’t it’s something that can’t be helped.
“There goes your promotion.” He holds back when Jaehwan startles him with his voice maliciously speaking closer than he thought the other detective is. He looks at the other and plays it out with a scoff.
“What does that come from?” Jinyoung asks, making an effort to turn his back as the Captain drawns the blinds closed and you throw yourself on the sofa carelessly.
“You know what,” the other says with a crooked smile, standing on the way of a very busy Wonshik and leaning an arm the younger shoulder, “the Captain retires, our Lieutenant takes his place and there you are. Perfect scenario. Am I right, maskot?”
“Don’t be jealous. It doesn’t match your personality.” Jinyoung provokes as both man part ways, not really being in the mood to talk much more than that.
“Is it truth?” Wonshik asks in curiosity and one of Jaehwan’s brow perks up to look at the department's youngest member.
“What?”
“That Detective Park will be promoted along Captain Sung retirement and the Lieutenant take over”, Wonshik asks innocently and that makes Jaehwan laughs enjoyably.
“You really don’t know anything. Do you?”
Jaehwan laughs, but stops as soon as he sees Wonshik’s eyes brimming with curiosity, he stops walking and grabs the younger to do the same, holding the other in place, he waits for some passerby disappear, until both of them are alone.
“Listen here,” he starts, “Since you’ve been here for a while you gotta make up your mind to whom you want to be loyal to,” Jaehwan explains, “Most people stick to the partnership. So, I’m gonna tell you this… Park Jinyoung isn’t eligible to take any major role, he’ll never move a step from where he is right now. Like our Captain, his name is tainted.”
***
“Close the fucking door!” The Captain as soon as you step one foot into the office. His anger vividly expressed, “I should’ve been against the Commander as soon as he pulled you in this case of all people. I could’ve pulled you out as soon as I saw things going smoothly. I’m no good for this job anymore, because of you, you know? All because of you!” Dongil let out his rent standing behind his desk while you stared at him with your puzzled expression.
“I have- absolutely no idea what-” You try saying with a shrug and your hands shoved inside the front pockets of your pants.
“Sure you don’t.”
Dongil interrupts and takes large, angry steps to the wall-sized window, reaching to close the blinds. He saw Jinyoung with his eyes fixated on you. Your Captain never said and would never say anything regarding this. Not one bit, but it never meant that he was oblivious. His eyes travels back to you when the blinds are tightly closed, he found you sitting on your typical spot in his office, looking comfortable as you are, at home as you feel.
“Then, what?” You ask, out of patience.
Dongil should know being angry wouldn’t have any effect on, you’re never scared of anything. Never was. This got you here, but could ruin you as well. He would be damned if this wasn’t, at least, one of the reasons why your marriage is - in his opinion - so regrettably over. The old man pleaded to heaven it would work while knowing all the reasons it wouldn’t, you and Cha Hakyeon… Anyone could see the end, but you’re always defiant and Hakyeon found his change to rebel in you, for a good reason. At first Dongil thought it was just a rich guys rebeling to his rich, powerful parents, but Hakyeon loves you, he saw enough to know.
“I don’t know if I should congratulate you or have you take a few days off duty. You need to sort out your life now, it wouldn’t be a bad thing.”
Dongil sees your eyes darkening, your rather carefree manner vanishing as you hear his words.
“I told you before-,” he starts again, sitting apart from you, grunting as he settles his old bones on the comfortable armchair, “You can’t solve every case trusting your guts, but this time… This time I’ll bet everything I have in your spidey senses, Y/n”, he says fondly.
“What are you talking about”
“The playboy’s confession doesn’t add up to his toxicology test. He’ll only be arrested for drug use and smuggling,” he explains, “The only lead we’ve got is with your theory and you better be right. You’ll hold the presentation. The Commander will be here at the afternoon?”
“Sure”, you sort, self-assertive.
“The Commander isn’t happy and he’s coming down to announce the outcome to the media, we’ll also be starting a new investigative team. I’m putting you in charge, so make sure you have the people you trust around you because the man is sending one of his lap dogs to spy on everything”
“Who?”
“I don’t know yet, but- It’s clear they don’t like you. Don’t disappointment me.”
“I won’t.”
He sighs. And there’s a pause when all the tension kind of dissipates and you can tell the old man is just tired of it all.
“Y/n, I want you to listen carefully now, okay?” You nod yet again and he it’s not the kind of response Dongil wants. “I won’t speak as your captain now, but as an old friend,” he makes another pause, leaning forward, looking in your eyes, “I’m not saying this because of me or you promotion or anything,” he starts, “But, particularly, I think it’s quite odd the Head Prosecutor Cha let go of this so easily knwoing you would be the only to lead the serial murder case-”
“Now, I’m the one asking you to trust me, sunbae.” You speak up, looking directly in his eyes, “I know what I have to do.” Dongil sighs and hangs his head low.
“All right. Just- be careful.”
***
It doesn’t matter how confident you look, you’re skin twitches when you think about it. Taking this case means a lot more than it did before, losing it means losing everything. Beads of sweat form on the line of your hair, the room is suddenly too confining and overall hot.
‘Minjoo. I’m sorry’ - you think to yourself, but you can’t find it in yourself to feel regret or pained about it. You know what you have to do and you won’t step back. You blindly get to your desk and start to gather the folders, everything you need to make the presentation for the Commander and his lap dog when they’re here. Well, the other team members will be there too. You’ll need help from someone from Narcotics, maybe Taecyeon, an old friend, come over to lend a pair hands to the team.
Jinyoung, Jaehwan, Taecyeon, the maskot, Detective Jung, Doctor Lee from forensic and his assistant… Those were the first names in your list. Who else? People you trust. You paused and looked around the troubled station now that something big was about to happen everyone was in an uproar.
“Jinyoung!” You call as soon as he walks in and he makes his way to you immediately, “That breakfast- How about now?”
You start walking away and Jinyoung leaves his current task at his desk before yanking his jacket out of his chair in quick, swift motions to follow you, without so much as a second thought.

Summary: It only made sense he worked at the 24-hour cafe on your street. What didn’t make sense was why you were always in there at odd hours of the night, trying to stay awake with the copious amounts of coffee you ordered. But that was the how he’d gotten to know you, so he couldn’t say he was complaining. You were a regular that he enjoyed seeing. You were funny, sweet, polite, and the most beautiful girl he’d ever laid eyes on. You made his dead heart beat again, and he knew it was a sign that he’d imprinted.
But he was a newborn, so his heart was battling his thirst, and it was making him crazy. The only thing he was sure of was that you had to be his, and only his.
He knew there was the possibility you would deny him, causing his heart to freeze, along with the rest of his being. However, he would make sure that would never happen. He loved you too much to ever take no for an answer.
‘We will be together,’ he promised himself as he stared at you from over the counter while you sipped at your drink, unaware of his gaze, ‘if it’s the last thing I ever do.’
Consumed Masterlist
His sharp eyes noticed everything: how you licked your lips after taking a sip from your mug of coffee, how your teeth grazed against your plump bottom lip as you looked over your notes, how you tucked the same strands of hair behind your ear when they’d fall into your face every few minutes -- and he counted the seconds between. Hakyeon did not miss one detail of your movements. He didn’t want to miss a detail, either. You were his mate, he could stare at you until the universe finally imploded and he wouldn’t get bored for even a millisecond.
Over time, he’d learned things about you. You’d been coming to the 24-hour cafe for a few weeks now since he started working there (three weeks and four days, but who was counting?) and he’d always wondered what the deal was. Why would some human show up almost every night to drink copious amounts of coffee? Well, the answer was simple: you worked the night shift since you were a student during the day. You went to college, then you worked all night. He didn’t know when you ever slept, though he didn’t see any signs of not getting enough sleep. Apparently you managed your time well, which pleased him. He liked that about you.
Over those three-ish weeks, Hakyeon had learned your major, your regular order, your job, your friends, and your overall living situation. And it wasn’t just from speaking to you, it was from following you. The imprinting pull made it easier than ever to find you, but he sometimes had to force himself to stay away.
Hakyeon, being an newborn vampire, had trouble controlling himself a lot of the time. He’d been getting better since he first turned just over a month ago, but the urges and instincts were still too strong sometimes. Especially with you. Your blood smelled the sweetest, you looked the warmest, everything about you appealed to him. You might’ve been his mate, but that only made the urge to taste your blood even worse because you were still human. But he always managed, no matter how close he felt to leaping over the counter just to sink his teeth into your soft flesh.
Sometimes he wondered if that was the reason for his obsession; his need to have you. Was it because he was a newborn so his instincts were so much stronger? Was it just because of the imprinting pull? Would it be like this even if he wasn’t a newborn? He didn’t know, but what did it matter? This was how things were, and they’d been like this ever since he started working here. For all he knew, it would stay like this.
Either way, you were going to belong to him one way or another.
The feet of your chair scraped softly against the floor as you pushed away from the table, putting your belongings in your bag before standing and slinging it over your shoulder. He watched your every move as you downed the rest of your coffee, his eyes zeroing in on the way your throat slightly bobbed as your head tipped back and you swallowed.
He unconsciously licked his lips, feeling his fangs start to poke at his tongue. What he wouldn’t give to just lick up the column of your neck before finally pressing his fangs into the soft skin. He bet you tasted sweeter than any kind of blood he’d had in his short time as a vampire. He would give his immortality just to have a taste...
“Thanks, Hakyeon!” you chirped, your musical voice pulling him from his daydreaming. “Have a good night!”
He sat up straighter from where he was leaning over the counter, his chin rested in his hand, “Are you leaving already?”
“Yeah, it’s almost midnight,” you chuckled.
“Time flies when you’re having fun, or something,” he muttered, glancing at the clock. It was fifteen minutes until midnight already, just as you said. But his eyes went straight back to you when he heard you walking toward the door. “Will you be okay?”
You paused as your hand pressed to the door, your head turning to face the cafe worker. He’d never asked you that before, “What do you mean?”
“Well,” he began slowly, “it’s just really late, and I know you don’t work too far from here, but I...just sometimes get...worried when you leave.”
It was the first time Hakyeon had ever admitted anything like that. Sure, it wasn’t maybe a big deal -- who wouldn’t get nervous for a girl walking around alone at night -- but he was still nervous about scaring you away somehow.
However, you gave him a soft smile, and he swore he’d be blushing if he could be.
“It’s okay, Hakyeon,” you told him. “I have to walk alone, anyway. I appreciate you worrying, though.”
As you pushed the door open and had one foot out the door, he blurted, “I can close!”
You stopped again, turning to look at him as he continued. You’d never seen Hakyeon this flustered before. Sure, he sometimes got a bit...twitchy, but he’d never been like this.
“I can close for a little bit to walk you,” he explained. “Hardly anyone comes in this late, so it’ll be fine. You work just down the street, don’t you? At that diner?”
You recalled telling him this before, one of the first nights Hakyeon had started working. The coffee at the diner just didn’t cut it for you. You’d found this little coffee shop just down the street -- it was the opposite way from where you came, so you’d never seen it before -- and you’d been coming here ever since. Then Hakyeon showed up, and since you had befriended the old night shift barista, you decided to talk to Hakyeon a bit to help pass time.
He was always nice, albeit a little bit shy. He also had a thing about personal space, so he was always extra careful when giving you or any other customers that stopped by on rare occasions their coffees. He’d place them on the counter and make sure he got his hand away quickly before the customer got their cup. He was an odd character, but definitely interesting -- and good to look at, you’d admit.
Hakyeon was, well, pretty perfect-looking. His skin was completely flawless -- no wrinkles, blemishes or otherwise. His hair was dark, sometimes falling into his almost black eyes as he poured coffee into mugs and travel cups. His lips looked soft and were a pretty pink color that didn’t stand out too much from his skin, but still added some color to him. He was just a godly figure that you enjoyed peeking over at from time to time when you were bored of studying or when you were waiting for your travel cup of coffee before you made your way home.
You didn’t know it, but he always saw when you looked at him, and he swore his heartbeat somehow picked up. He swore on his immortality that you really did bring his dead heart back to life, and it grew stronger with every glance you blessed him with.
“Won’t you get fired?” you frowned slightly, not wanting to be the cause of Hakyeon losing his job when you’re only acquaintances, and he just got the job a few weeks ago.
He quickly shook his head, already discarding his apron and walking out from behind the counter to follow you, “Nobody will know.”
Due to the closeness of Hakyeon, you exited the shop, turning when your feet hit the sidewalk to see him flipping the open sign to closed before locking the door. He turned to you, a warm smile on his face as he pushed up the sleeves of his black sweater.
“Let’s go!” he chirped. “Wouldn’t want you to be late.”
“You know, you really don’t have to,” you told him even though your feet were already moving toward your destination with Hakyeon easily falling in-step beside you.
He just shrugged, jamming his hands into the front pockets of his jeans, “It’s fine, ___. You’re worrying too much about me.”
But truthfully, he was relishing the fact you were concerned for him. He didn’t think you’d really give a shit since he was just some barista you only shared small talk with -- though he knew more about you than you knew he did. Just the fact you worried over him was enough to make him want to grab your hand and whisk you away to his house and keep you there forever.
The fact he was so close to you wasn’t helping, either. His senses were attacked with everything you, and it was enough to have his cold heart racing as if he were a lovesick teenager. He couldn’t stand not reaching out to touch you, hold you, taste you. He just wanted you.
The two of you made small talk as usual until you reached the small diner. Like the cafe, it was open all night, and it was your source of income. But luckily, you didn’t completely hate the night shift. You had a few coworkers you enjoyed -- one more than the rest -- and a few regulars that you were kind of fond of. Besides, money was money, and if it got the rent paid...
Hakyeon’s heart dropped as soon as the two of you stopped in front of the door, his brown eyes looking up to the neon sign, “Guess this is your stop.”
“Wanna come in?” you offered, one hand already on the door handle. “Maybe get a burger or...a shittier, cheaper cup of coffee? It’s kinda cold out and maybe you could warm up before walking back?”
Hakyeon didn’t eat. He could do it -- he’d throw it all up later -- but he didn’t need to. However, he’d pretend all he had to if you were the one offering the gross substances to him. Especially with that sweet smile and those beautiful eyes looking up at him. Fuck, he’d walk to hell and back for you if you asked him.
“Sure,” he nodded.
You opened the door before strolling into the diner, the familiar scent filling your nose. Behind you, Hakyeon walked in and looked around tentatively. It smelled awful in his opinion because of the food, but he could still smell the wonderful scent of humans, so the scent was bearable.
A heavier, middle-aged woman was standing behind the counter where three men were seated a few seats apart. Even from how far away he was, Hakyeon could tell the name read “Mary”.
“Right on time, as usual,” she commented as you walked further into the diner, the boy trailing behind you. “Who’s your friend?”
You turned to look behind you, making sure Hakyeon was still following. As soon as you looked at him, his wandering eyes went right to you.
“This is Hakyeon,” you introduced him. “He works at the cafe I go to before and after work.”
“Ah,” Mary nodded before smirking toward Hakyeon. “Nice to meet you, stranger.”
“Hakyeon, you can go sit wherever you like,” you told him with a small smile. “I’ll be right over.”
He just silently nodded before going to sit in a booth over by the large one in the corner. You waked behind the counter and grabbed an apron from off the hooks.
“Is Minseok here already?” you asked, already knowing the answer.
Mary sighed with a nod, “Of course he is, ___. You know he comes in two hours before you do.”
“And leaves two hours earlier, too,” you frowned as you tied the strings around your waist.
Hakyeon’s eyes narrowed at the menu in front of him as he listened to the conversation. Who was Minseok and why did you want to know if he was here? You didn’t mention having a boyfriend, and he never saw anybody go into your apartment. Maybe it was just a coworker? Hopefully not one you were too close with.
You grabbed your notepad and pen before walking over to Hakyeon’s table, leaning against it with one hand with a natural smile he’d never seen you wear. You really were in your element in this place. The confidence you showed as soon as you were in your waitress uniform was something he’d never seen. He loved it.
“So,” you began with a toothy smile, your tongue poking out playfully, “anything you want?”
‘You,’ was all he could think, ‘you, you, you, you.’
“Burger sounds good,” his mouth said -- thankfully.
“How do you like that done?” you asked on instinct.
“Rare,” he said quickly.
“Still mooing,” you nodded with a chuckle, jotting it down, “got it.”
As you were writing, Hakyeon noticed a man in his peripheral vision. He was walking toward you, carrying a plastic tub of dirty dishes. As he walked by, he playfully slapped your ass, making you gasp and turn to face the culprit as he carried on his way.
“Minseok!” you giggled, your face turning a cute pink.
But it wasn’t a cute pink caused by Hakyeon, so he didn’t like it. Or the giggle. Or the way you looked at him, and the way your mouth curled around his name like it was your favorite thing to say.
Clearly, you were in love with this guy.
“Sorry, baby!” Minseok called over his shoulder, his shaggy, black hair falling into his eyes. “Couldn’t resist!”
As you turned to go after your apparent boyfriend, Hakyeon growled lowly to himself. How could his mate be in love with someone else? You were his and only his. He was the only one that could make you happy, not some short busboy! He was going to do something about it, but he had to act fast. He’d have to plan how to get you to belong to him, even if you didn’t want to. He knew what was best for you, it was in his instincts.
You reached the counter, giggling and joking with Minseok. You went to put the order on the line of them hung by wooden clips but you realized you forgot to ask what Hakyeon even wanted on his burger.
“Hey, Hakye--” you stopped, looking over to his table only to see that Hakyeon was gone.
-
Hakyeon took the next few days off to study you. He didn’t need sleep, so he could follow your every move. He watched you leave the diner that night, following you all the way home from the safety of the shadows. He watched you sleep after climbing the fire escape like he’d always done but this time maneuvering your window open to stand in the corner of your room. He followed you to school, and even watched you go to the cafe and study before going to work again. And he did that every single day for five days. He saw everything you did in between, from brushing your teeth, to getting dressed, to getting off at night with Minseok over the phone.
God, he couldn’t stand Minseok. He wanted him dead, and he wanted to be the one to do it. He wanted to enjoy the little show you put on for him unknowingly, but he couldn’t because it was with somebody that wasn’t him. He had to get rid of your boyfriend once and for all, and he would do it tonight, he just wanted to do it in a new way. He didn’t want to drink his blood and drain him of life -- why would Hakyeon want his blood in his system? No, he was going to do this another way.
You had worked your usual shift at the diner, but Minseok wasn’t in. He hadn’t been texting you, and Mary said he hadn’t even called out. You didn’t understand what the problem was. Had you done something wrong? Was he sick? You had no idea.
So, after work, you walked to Minseok’s house. You knew he would scold you for it -- he hated you making the short walk from the diner to your apartment building alone at night, let alone walking to his place -- but you had to know why he wasn’t answering you and why he didn’t show up for work. You had to make sure he was okay.
“Minseok?” you called upon entering his house with the spare key under the mat. “Minseok, it’s me! Are you okay?”
Despite the fact all the lights were on, the house was completely silent. Well, until you heard something clatter against the floor in the kitchen.
“Minseok!” you gasped, hurrying down the hall. But as soon as you saw the kitchen, you froze.
Everything was red. Blood was covering the floor, the cabinets, the counters, and the walls. There was a large pool of it surrounding Minseok, who was laying lifelessly on the floor. His eyes were wide open, the light in them completely gone. There was multiple cuts in his work shirt, which was completely covered in red as well. And beside him on the floor, was the knife that caused all of this.
But the scariest thing of all was the man knelt in front of him, shaking so badly he was practically vibrating. You watched as his hands clenched and unclenched as he just sat there, staring down at Minseok.
A hand shakily went to your mouth, wanting so badly to scream or cry or make some sort of noise for help, but everything was caught in your throat. You couldn’t believe this was happening, it all felt like some awful nightmare you would wake up from. But you wouldn’t wake up because you were already awake, and this was all reality.
The man on the floor suddenly moved, his head whipping around to face you. The first thing you saw were the bright red eyes at looked at you wildly. But then you finally took in the features, recognizing Hakyeon, his face and body covered in Minseok’s blood. His mouth was open, letting out jagged breaths. You could see sharp fangs that poked his bottom lip.
“W-Wha-- Ha--” you couldn’t even form words, not knowing what to say. You couldn’t wrap your head around any of this as tears dripped from your eyes, down your cheeks, and off your chin onto the floor.
“You don’t belong to him,” he said, his voice deep and sultry which contrasted his appearance. His hair was sticking out in all directions, and his shirt was torn and stretched and wrinkled. Yet his voice was so steady. “You belong to me, ___. I didn’t want to share.”
“I-I’m not yours,” you whispered, shaking your head. You didn’t even understand what this had to do with anything. “Hakyeon, I-- I want you out of this house.”
“No, you’re mine!” he insisted, standing up and getting in front of you so quickly that you didn’t even see him move. His hands gripped your upper arms so tightly it was uncomfortable. You squirmed to get away but he didn’t even struggle or flinch. “You are my mate, ___; you belong to me!”
“What the fuck are you talking about?” you cried, just assuming he was crazy. But between the weird eyes and how cold his skin was against yours and the fangs, you could already make the assumption. But you thought it was all fairytale bullshit. “Hakyeon, this doesn’t make any sense!”
“Don’t play dumb,” he growled threateningly, “I know you know what I am now. I imprinted on you, and you’re my mate. Minseok was just in the way.”
“No!” you continued to violently thrash in his hold. “I don’t want to be! I don’t want you!”
“You can’t deny me or I’ll die.”
“Then rot in hell!”
Hakyeon’s eyes narrowed, his nails digging into your skin so hard it made you bleed. You whimpered, continuing to try to fight him as you shouted for help, but you didn’t know if anybody could even hear you.
“I’m not dying,” he snarled. “You’re either mine, or you’re nobody’s.”
Before you could say anything else, you felt a sharp pain in your neck. You had merely blinked, and Hakyeon’s face was buried in the crook of your neck, his teeth sinking deep into your flesh. You cried out, shoving against him, but he easily held you in place.
The taste of your blood was even sweeter than he imagined. He practically moaned at the taste, drinking, drinking, drinking to his heart’s content. He swore his heart was swelling just from the taste of his mate’s sweet blood. It was addictive. He couldn’t stop.
He couldn’t stop.
Still being a newborn, he couldn’t control himself. His lips never left your neck, even as you grew weaker and weaker. Your hits and shoves became nothing more than light jabs and pokes before you started to go limp in his hold. But fuck, he couldn’t stop. You were too delicious, and his newborn instincts pushed him to go until he couldn’t go anymore.
And so he drained you of your blood, and your life. But he wouldn’t die, and nobody else could have you.
“How many times do I need to tell you not to leave your dirty socks all over the house?”
You pouted and looked at N over the rim of your glasses. His tone wasn’t nearly as soft or joking like it usually was. He truly sounded irritated.
“I’ll pick them up later,” you whined.
“You always say that!” he raised his voice. You flinched at his sudden loudness.
Your eyebrows knitted together in worry. N didn’t tend to get upset at such small things but you could see his neck redden as his blood pressure rose.
Trying to minimize the damage, you tried to turn up the cuteness and mumbled, “It’s not that big of a deal.”
However, that clearly backfired as his jaw reactively twitched. He was clenching his teeth. N angrily threw the rag he was wiping the coffee table with and stormed over to where you sat on the couch.
Wide-eyed, you watched him approach. Fear that he was honestly pissed over a pair of socks froze you.
“You goddamn brat!” he yelled. You instinctively shrunk back at his words. He reached for you and grabbed you by the wrists. His grip was tight but not painful. It was a gesture of assertiveness and it wasn’t intended to inflict injury. He rocked you like he was trying to shake some sense into you. He pulled you forward before pushing you back into the cushions as he muttered through grit teeth, “I should teach you a lesson.”
N tugged the hem of your shirt up as you struggled to recover from your shock. You only came to your senses once he was forcing your arms up so that he could pull your blouse up over your head. Once that had been tossed aside, he squeezed your breast hard. Automatically, you batted his hands away.
“I don’t think so,” N said firmly and gathered your wrist in a single hand to restrain you as his other hand slipped between your thighs. He roughly rubbed you though your jeans.
You squealed, unsure if you should have been enjoying this as much as your were as it was intended to be a punishment. He knew how to control his pressure so that you could still feel him through the denim.
However, just as abruptly as he started, N stopped. He withdrew his hand from between your legs and tossed your wrists away. He curled his lip and glared down at you. He stood, his eyes not leaving yours until he reached down and picked up your socks from the floor.
“Hmph!” N snarled as he left you to go put your socks in the hamper.
Feeling bewildered and turned on, you began to plot your revenge for when bedtime arrived.
Here’s the next one for the College!AU series. It’s almost done. This is the 4th one! Ken, Leo and Hongbin are done, and now, N. Hope you enjoy reading! <3
Every student in the class cheered as soon as they heard the professor’s announcement. For your end-of-the semester final project, your class would be doing a play at your school’s auditorium, with the whole campus watching, as well as other guests and visitors. Though the professor didn’t reveal what play would be done, you were just as excited. You look around the classroom and see that a lot of the students are already practicing lines for different roles. Your best friends smile at you. Somewhere in the room, you also saw Hakyeon, the expert as some would say. He was great at acting after all. He simply sat there, smiling and clapping his hands, a grateful expression spreading across his face.
As a performing arts major, of course you’d have to do stage plays or something of that sort for your finals. So, a few days later, your professor announced what play you would be doing: an original one. The class would make the script, story, roles, props and even costumes. You were honestly happy that you could make an original play with your class. That way, you could be as creative as you wanted.
When the professor left, the class held a mini meeting. “Alright guys! First we need to have a basic gist for the story. Genre? Romance is always good, with a hint of mystery. Detective story?” says classmate 1.
The class agreed in unison, so everyone started brainstorming and contributing ideas. After a while, you all had a basic storyline. Classmate 2 spoke, “Ok, classmate 1, classmate 3 and I will be the scriptwriters. The others are free to help if you want. Now we need to assign the roles.”
After much discussion, roles were assigned to the students. “I think Hakyeon should play the lead because he’s really good.” your best friend states.
Hakyeon nods with a small, calm smile. “I don’t mind, unless someone else wants to try.” he says.
Classmate 3 chuckles, “I think I can speak for the class that we’d all want you as the lead.”
The class laughs at this, because it actually is the truth. We all want someone who is good like Hakyeon as the lead. Your other best friend raises her hand and says, “Why don’t we have y/n as the lead’s partner?”
Your eyes went wide. Being the lead’s partner would also mean that you’re his love interest. “Ooooh! Yeah, I think that would work. Y/n does have some experience in acting.” says classmate 4.
Classmate 5 jokingly adds, “And they kind of match with each other.”
A bunch of “yeah”s and “true”s erupted from the class, causing you to blush. Hakyeon on the other hand remained calm and collected as if it was no big deal. Well, it wasn’t a big deal, but for some reason, you felt flustered. Your best friend turned to Hakyeon, “Is that alright with you?”
Hakyeon chuckles, “Yes, it is.”
“Then it’s settled!” beams classmate 2.
After an hour, other roles were assigned, as well as who would be in charge of costumes and props. The actors and actresses would practice on certain schedules, but they were free to practice individually in their own time.
When everyone left, you remained sitting, thinking about what just happened. You were to be the partner of Hakyeon for the play. Hakyeon was for sure the most loved student by the whole campus. He was not only handsome and talented in acting, but he was also good at dancing and is really smart. To add even more plus points, he is very charismatic, eloquent, classy and downright fashionable. He is the epitome of elegant. So of course it would be an honor to play the role of his partner and love interest, but you were also nervous and worried. You’ve heard stories wherein Hakyeon could be quite the diva and perfectionist, so you might have a hard time coping with him. What if he really is too good for you? He is an ace, after all.
You are lost in your theories and thoughts, until a hand gently touches your shoulder. You snap back to reality and look up to see Hakyeon. “When the script is done, we should practice our lines together during some of our free time.”
You gulp and feel nervous all of a sudden, but you manage to smile, “Oh, yeah. Sure. Just tell me when.”
Hakyeon gives a quick nod and smiles before walking out of the class, hands in his pockets.
Over the week, the script was completed. The other students were also making progress with the props and costumes. After all the classes, you and your classmates (along with Hakyeon) would rehearse at the auditorium. This lasted for about two weeks. In that time, you and Hakyeon practiced with each other for about 3 times a week, so 6 times all in all.
The play was going to happen in 4 weeks, so you were in the library, doing your homework while there were no rehearsals. As you were writing down your answers, Hakyeon approached you with a cool smile. “Y/n, I know you’re busy, but do you think we can rehearse?” he asks.
You look up in surprise and think about it for a while. Your homework was pretty easy, so it could wait. “Sure. Where?” you reply.
“My dorm room. It’s quiet and less distractions.” Hakyeon says with a straight face.
You blush; you and Hakyeon would usually rehearse in the auditorium, but if it was being used, you’d practice in a quiet corner in the library. This would be your first time in his room. Slowly nodding and too shy to turn him down now, you nod, “Alright.”
You pack your things quickly and then leave, following Hakyeon.
Upon entering his room, you were amazed to see it so clean and neat. It even smelled like lavender, maybe because of the creamy white candle that he lit up. Out of the corner of your eye, you saw a bookshelf filled with tons of books. “Are these all yours?” you ask as you caress the book spines.
Hakyeon proudly smiles, “Yes. Most are kind of old, but they’re nice.”
You take one and smell the old pages. Something about old books seemed to relax you. “I love these books. I mean, I’ve read them, and I love it all.”
You blush at the compliment but brush it off with a chuckle. You put the book back in its place as Hakyeon ushers for you to sit anywhere. He takes a seat on his computer chair, while you sit on his bed. Throughout the day, the two of you diligently practiced your lines and even some actions, although you two agreed to skip on the kiss…for now. Hakyeon really did prove to be a talented actor, but he didn’t judge you when you made mistakes. In fact, he’d assist you and even give you tips and advice.
You remember your heart fluttering every time he corrected and action that you did, but he felt like something else would be better. For example, your character was supposed to check Hakyeon’s character’s face for any wounds or scratches, so to practice the action, you used one hand and placed it on his cheek and examined his face. Hakyeon instructed you to use both hands instead, as if you were cupping his face. It was a bit awkward at first, but it actually made it more romantic.
There was also the times that your heart would flutter because his character was the one that did something romantic. His character was supposed to reassure and comfort your character for being upset with him, so you were expecting that Hakyeon would talk about it and at most, gently hold your hand. You were surprised when he did more. Your character turned away from him, too upset to look at his face. Hakyeon, fully in character, then grabbed your wrist and pulled you to him, wrapping the other arm around your waist with your faces inches apart. Hakyeon smirked at you, but playfully and not haughtily. He chuckled when he let go of you, calling you cute because you were blushing.
******
Days went by as you continuously practiced with the others and with Hakyeon. The rehearsals were so close to being perfect, and everyone was happy. All it needed was just a little more practice.
You all had one week. But it also meant that you had one week left until finals. This project would take the place of the final exam for one subject, but you had other subjects that had written final exams, and you’ve only studied a little per subject. You decided to hold off on rehearsals first, since everyone agreed that just one or two more rehearsals next week would be enough.
It was early in the evening, about 7:30 p.m., and you were in the library studying. You managed to study one subject in the afternoon, so you were studying another one now. You heard the library door creak open, so you look up to see Hakyeon. “Hey.” you greet him.
Over time, you and Hakyeon became close because of all the rehearsals. You weren’t intimidated by him; in fact, you two had a very fun and casual bond. He was pretty sassy at times, so teasing him wasn’t a problem. “Studying? You’re already smart enough.” Hakyeon chuckles as he sits next to you.
“Am not. You’re the one who’s smart enough to not study but still ace the exams.” you chuckle back.
Hakyeon smiles, “Liar.”
You stick your tongue out. Hakyeon laughs at you then asks, “I guess you won’t have time to rehearse with me, right?”
You sadly smile at him. “I’d love to, but we’ve already perfected it…almost perfect anyway. We’ll rehearse more next week, but for now, I have to get this studying done. We have other exams after all, and I haven’t given these much time.” you explain.
Hakyeon smiles, “You’re amazing, y/n.”
“Whatever, Hakyeon.” you laugh.
He scoots closer and grabs the book you were reading. “We have the same classes. Let’s study together. I haven’t really studied much either. We can do this.”
You look at him and grin widely. “Let’s go.”
Hours have passed, and it already 11:30. You and Hakyeon managed to study and cover a lot of topics, so you are both currently studying the last subject on your agenda. However, after countless sleepless nights of cramming to memorize your lines and sneaking in some studying, you start to feel sleepy. You feel like you’re actually half asleep already. You rest your head on the table, your hair splayed all over. You were on the brink of sleeping, but Hakyeon slowly reached for you and gingerly tucked your hair behind your ear, causing you to scrunch up your nose. In turn, he chuckled to himself, but you still stirred awake. “Hakyeon…” you mumble, shifting your body to face him.
Even in the dim light, you could yell that Hakyeon was looking at you too. “Y/n?”
Too drowsy, you didn’t even respond or react- you remained sitting still as you and Hakyeon gazed at each other. Dazed, you didn’t notice Hakyeon inching closer until you felt his lips softly press onto yours. Only then did you become aware, causing you to be fully awake. “Hakyeon…” you mutter as you touch your lips, expression clearly shocked.
Hakyeon couldn’t help but smirk. “I’m sorry for being so sudden. That was rude of me.” Yet he was chuckling.
You blushed. “No, it’s fine…” you mumble the other part, “…it's not like I didn’t like it…”
Hakyeon still heard what you said, and his smirk turned into a wider grin. “That’s good to hear.”
“What?” you ask in surprise.
Hakyeon leaned back on the seat very casually, but the expression on his face was serious. “I’ll be honest with you, y/n. Ever since we got paired for the play, I knew you'd be a good partner because you’ve always been hard-working. I admire you in many ways. In fact, I admire and like you…a lot.”
You blush and tell him, “I’ve always felt the same, but I thought it was impossible because you’re like, too good for me.”
Hakyeon chuckled, “Nonsense.”
With that, he leaned closer once again, and this time, kissed you more passionately.
“The play’s kiss scene is going to be really easy.” he teases after pulling away.
Summary: “A miracle had come to me, from the beginning "or, Hakyeon goes on a road trip and Taekwoon receives a call.
He sighed, using the buttons in the wheel to change the song that was currently playing.
A more upbeat song came up, and he smiled, bobbing his head to the rhythm.
Hakyeon didn’t like to drive such a long distance if he could avoid it, but this time he had needed to. His father had given him a couple of boxes full of old things he didn’t want to get rid of, and since they were moving houses and the new house didn’t have enough space to keep them, he needed to take them back to Seoul with him. Taking the train would’ve been impossible, and sending them by post or in the plane with him would’ve been a hassle, not to mention a really expensive hassle, so he drove the whole way to Changwon for his mum’s birthday, spent a wonderful weekend with his family, loaded everything in the car, and took off.
Normally, Taekwoon would’ve gone with him, but his sister was expected to give birth within that week, and so Hakyeon managed to convince him he’d better stay in Seoul. Going back quickly in case she went into labour, would’ve been extremely difficult, considering the train combinations needed to get to Seoul, and flying wouldn’t be a choice, as there was only one daily flight from Changwon to Seoul. Driving the amount of hours he’d been driving for was tiring, so much tiring without anyone to talk to, but he made sure to play all of his favourite upbeat songs, moving his head and torso to the music, and managing to cover a lot of ground by noon.
He stopped in a petrol station to fill the tank, go to the toilet, and get some light lunch. Taekwoon had sent him a message while he was eating, telling him to drive safely the rest of the way home, and that he was going to take Hongbin and Hyuk out for lunch before going to the supermarket, because they were driving him insane by asking him to cook them something, but there was no food in the dorm, so he sent him a smiley face and a heart, lips curving upwards as he imagined Taekwoon’s face when he saw them. He’d always tell him he was extremely cheesy when he sent him stickers, but he couldn’t help it.
He bought a bottle of water on his way out, smiling and thanking the cashier when she told him to be careful heading north, as the roads where icy this time of the year.
He started the car, hooked his mobile back to the car, pressed play, and sung as he drove away, heading north.

Taekwoon bit his lip to avoid smiling when he read the name on his mobile screen.
Your love Hakyeonnie!! ♥ ♥ ♥
“Hi”
“Hi Woonie.” Hakyeon’s soft voice said in the speaker. “How is grocery shopping going?”
“A nightmare.” Hakyeon chuckled softly. “I’ve given Bean and Hyuk fifteen minutes top to get out of the game store before I kill them, so I’m waiting for them in the car, and then we’re heading home. How’s the road trip going?”
“Don’t kill them, I don’t think VIXX would be able to promote without the Maknae Line, Woonie. Plus, Wonsikkie is cute, but he doesn’t look like a Maknae.”
“You’re right, but the temptation is always there.” More soft chuckles. “Are you driving? You know I don’t like it when people use their mobile while driving.”
“I’m not, I wouldn’t be calling you if I were. The car is by the road.”
“Good.” Taekwoon sighs. “What do you want to have for dinner? I bought everything to restock the refrigerator, so you can choose.”
“Mmm… meat?” Taekwoon scoffed.
“Of course you want meat, why do I even bother to ask. Okay, I’ll give you meat for dinner, but only because I haven’t seen you in a couple of days.”
“Aww, did you miss me during the weekend, Taekwoon-ah?” He could hear the smile in Hakyeon’s voice.
“NO! I mean… a little.” He could imagine the pout the other had on his face. “Okay, I missed you a lot, okay? I think this weather is affecting me. It’s cold at night, so that’s when I missed you the most.”
“It is really cold. I’m actually freezing right now.” He added in a whisper, but Taekwoon heard it.
“Don’t you have the heating on?”
“I did, but the car isn’t running, so it’s not on now.” He explained.
“Hmmm, are you trying to freeze? Don’t be stingy and use it, don’t think about the petrol consumption.”
“It’s okay, I won’t be here for too long” He heard a cough, and shook his head, knowing Hakyeon was probably coming down with a cold. He’d make porridge tonight so he could have a batch ready for Hakyeon when he inevitably fell ill and needed to be coddled. “Listen, it’s really cold right now, and I’m feeling really sleepy, so I’m going to get going now.”
“If you’re feeling sleepy get to a rest stop, go inside and rest for a little bit. There’s no use in being behind the wheel if you’re falling asleep.”
“Don’t worry, I won’t drive.”
“Okay, be safe, then.”
“I really, really love you, Taekwoon-ah. You always look so cold, but I know you’re not, just look at how well you take care of me, even when you’re not here with me right now.”
“Of course I take care of you, you like to take care of everyone but yourself, if I didn’t take care of you, you’d be screwed long time ago.”
“I know, thank you for that.” Taekwoon bit his lip, but couldn’t repressed the words that came next.
“I really do love you too, Hakyeon, I know I don’t say it very often, or at all, but I love you a lot. Just wanted you to know.”
“Thank you. I really needed that.” He heard him sigh, and then cough a little more. Hakyeon cleared his throat, and then spoke again. “Okay, I’m really going now. Love you.”
“See you tonight Hakyeonnie.”

Taekwoon finished washing the lettuce, putting it in a bowl before placing it on the table, when he heard the code being punched into the lock, and the door opening.
He turned to where Jaehwan was taking the kimchi out of the container, glaring at him when he saw he was more eating the kimchi than placing it in the small bowl. Jaehwan grinned and slowly closed the lid, sticking the container back in the refrigerator.
He was about to scold him when Hyuk stuck his head through the door.
“Hyungs, manager hyung wants us all in the living room now” He stated, and Taekwoon and Jaehwan shared a look. The last time that had happened, the whole fan site scandal had just exploded, and they had been placed on lockdown for weeks. They both dropped everything and followed Hyuk to the living room, where the other members where already waiting, his manager pacing up and down the length of the room.
“What is it, hyung?” Wonshik asked.
The manager took a deep breath, and lifted his head, looking at them for the first time since he had gone into the dorm.
“It’s Hakyeon.”
Chaos ensued.

Hakyeon took the mobile phone that was currently right next to him, unlocking the screen and searching his favourite contacts before pressing the first name in the list
My Woonie =)♥ ♥
“Hi” Taekwoon’s voice sounded as pretty as always.
“Hi Woonie. How is grocery shopping going?”
“A nightmare.” Hakyeon chuckled softly, trying not to move his stomach too much.
Plus, Wonsikkie is cute, but he doesn’t look like a Maknae.” He answered, managing to expertly avoid answering his question.
“You’re right, but the temptation is always there. Are you driving? You know I don’t like it when people use their mobile while driving.”
“I’m not, I wouldn’t be calling you if I were. The car is by the road.” It was the truth. Taekwoon didn’t need to know he wasn’t exactly parked.
“Good. “He knew Taekwoon was relieved by his words. He always scolded everyone he saw using them mobiles while driving. He’d even stopped talking to Jaehwan for two weeks when he saw him doing so a couple months ago. “What do you want to have for dinner? I bought everything to restock the refrigerator, so you can choose.” He’d love to have dinner with them, his lips pursing at the thought of making Taekwoon work.
“Mmm… meat?” Meat was a safe choice, right? He’d just prepare side dishes and rice, and wouldn’t actually cook the meat until Hakyeon was there.
“Of course you want meat, why do I even bother to ask. Okay, I’ll give you meat for dinner, but only because I haven’t seen you in a couple of days.” His heart ached at that phrase.
“Aww, did you miss me during the weekend, Taekwoon-ah?” He smiled, eyes closing as he let his head fall.
“NO! I mean… a little.” He pouted at that “Okay, I missed you a lot, okay? I think this weather is affecting me. It’s cold at night, so that’s when I missed you the most.” Hakyeon’s smile came back full force at that.
“It is really cold. I’m actually freezing right now.” He was, even if he was wearing warm clothes, the cold was seeping through them, making him shudder a little.
“Don’t you have the heating on?”
“I did, but the car isn’t running, so it’s not on now.” He explained, which was true.
“Hmmm, are you trying to freeze? Don’t be stingy and use it, don’t think about the petrol consumption.”
“It’s okay, I won’t be here for too long” He coughed a little, again, keeping his stomach as still as he could. He just wanted to be in Taekwoon's warm embrace and sleep for days, until he felt better. “Listen, it’s really cold right now, and I’m feeling really sleepy, so I’m going to get going now.”
“If you’re feeling sleepy get to a rest stop, go inside and rest for a little bit. There’s no use in being behind the wheel if you’re falling asleep.”
“Don’t worry, I won’t drive.” He was in no state to do so.
“Okay, be safe, then.”
“I really, really love you, Taekwoon-ah. You always look so cold, but I know you’re not, just look at how well you take care of me, even when you’re not here with me right now.” His voice came out a little desperate at that, but he hoped Taekwoon didn’t notice it.
“Of course I take care of you, you like to take care of everyone but yourself, if I didn’t take care of you, you’d be screwed long time ago.”
“I know, thank you for that.”
“I really do love you too, Hakyeon, I know I don’t say it very often, or at all, but I love you a lot. Just wanted you to know.” A wave of warmth rushed through his body, feeling Taekwoon’s presence even if he was hundreds of kilometres away.
“Thank you. I really needed that.” He sighed, his stomach had stopped aching, but he had to cough to clear his throat a little “Okay, I’m really going now. Love you.”
“See you tonight Hakyeonnie.” He ended the call, letting the device fall as he went to sleep, Taekwoon’s face stamped on his mind as he drifted away.

[Breaking] VIXX’s N Passes Away from Car Accident
According to YTN, VIXX’s leader N passed away due to a car accident on January 12 at 2:20 p.m. (KST).
The car was on heading towards Seoul when a drunk driver heading the opposite way lost control of his vehicle due to the ice patches that covered the highly transited freeway, and crashed into his car.
Following the heart-breaking news of the car accident, his agency, Jellyfish Entertainment has offered an official statement with details of the tragic accident:
“This is Jellyfish Entertainment.
Yesterday, after visiting his family in Changwon, N’s vehicle was impacted by a drunk driver that lost control of his car. Due to the ice in the road, the vehicle rolled several times before coming to a stop against trees located about fifty metres to the side of the road. As a result, Cha Hakyeon has grievously passed away.
His body will be transferred from Daejeon to a hospital in Seoul today, but the location of the wake has not yet been decided.
Our company employees are currently in an immense state of shock and are experiencing unspeakable sadness at the moment. VIXX members are terribly disturbed by the news, so we ask everyone to respect their privacy and allow them to grieve their leader peacefully.
We offer our words of apology to the fans, as well as everyone who must have received a great shock.
We will deliver further details as they are known. Thank you.”
Our deepest condolences to his family, friends, members and fans.
I know, I know, I’m an awful human being. I’ve actually had this in mind for a couple of days, I got inspired by Eternity’s lyrics. The title is a small part of the lyrics, and so is part of the summary.
Let me know what you think, this is the first time I try writing something for VIXX, so I think Leo is a little OoC but, oh well, can’t do anything about that.
Also, don’t let me write on exam season, apparently I just kill everyone.
