day 8 (with a prompt from day 21, vows) - kite and calliope, with uhm... LORE?? KITE LORE???
Kite and Calliope fall in love through strange circumstances - namely, Calliope, a circus worker, investing all of her acting skills, charisma and dyonisian illusionary magic towards ilfiltrating the court Kite fights for, to dig for cash and, for the most part, win a bet.
Needless to say, when she winds up wrapped into the court politics with a neat bow of marriage to the king, her plan goes off the rails.
Kite senses something wrong - but is called forth by her allure either way, half-investigating and half-bonding with the witch as time goes on. Push comes to shove, and though truth comes to light, her belief in what she is doing being good waned too much for it to be worth to give away her friend.
So, Kite helps Calliope kill the king. it goes only a little wrong. The marriage comes after that - a vow to protect one another to death and beyond, meant romantically by both, who are also under the assumption that it's a situation where the pining is one-sided.
I don't know if this has hit you yet, but they SUCK at talking it out.

oc-tober 2021- impact
Tana really wished she could stop finding her sister like this. Lula stood in front of her, drenched in blood, hands in the pocket of her hoodie, and not meeting Tana’s eyes.
“Why don’t you go get changed. We’ll relax tonight,” Tana said, softly, and Lula simply nodded before crossing to the other side of their shared bedroom, and into her closet. Tana turned the other way, to the bathroom to prepare a warm bowl of water for her sister’s hair. She wouldn’t need stitches tonight; the blood covering Lula wasn’t her own. Tana could tell.
After a few minutes, she had her sister sat in front of her, facing the TV, while Tana tried to work all the blood out of her hair. She wasn’t sure exactly what had gone down, but Lula’s hair was so drenched, you could barely see the blonde of it. To make matters worse, it was fairly messy and tangled, which was unfortunately not out of the ordinary for her.
“It’s just hair, Tan,” her sister said softly, apparently sensing her frustration, “It doesn’t matter. Doesn’t make a difference.”
She knew what words were hidden there. Lula didn’t keep any mirrors in their bedroom, and generally tried to avoid her reflection as much as she could. Tana suspected her sister still saw the blood whenever she looked at her own image. Tana herself, saw blood on her hands often, especially when it wasn’t there.
The movie ended, and the screen of the television went black. She caught her sister’s eye in the reflection. The blonde looked almost vulnerable in moments like these, almost as if she wasn’t the slightly older one. The townspeople called them twins sometimes. They weren’t.
In a fluid motion, Tana grabbed the remote, put on the next movie, and resumed washing the blood out of Lula’s hair.
