You know, I absolutely adore your bay au with babysitter Mikaela. Does Screamer ever end up laying those eggs ? How soon until he’s got another dozen ready to go ?

Also, I will never recover from the mental image of Megatron getting pummelled with a palmtree, that’s now in my head forever

If Starscream lays that batch of hatchlings Megatron will be on him again in no time, they are a deterant! He is keeping himself full of eggs to stop from having MORE eggs! He cannot cope with the hatchlings he has now and unless Megatron pulls his big rusty head out of his big rusty aft and starts actually watching them with even a fraction of the competence a teenage girl can they will NOT be having more.

What would have happened in NESTing if Starscream was paranoid enough not to trust the humans around his hatchlings?

He was, at first.

It took a few months after Megatron's offer of ceasefire and his Starscream's arrival on the island base for Starscream to even let the hatchlings peak out from under his armour.

Most of the soldiers had no idea they even existed. It was only after hatchlings were occasionally misplaced (forgotten somewhere) and ended up wandering around the soldiers, that Starscream realised humans weren't mindless, primitive killing machines out to attack/steak his babies at the first opportunity. (Megatron might have been feeding into his paranoia)

Thinking about N.E.S.Ting again.

You think Starscream and Megatron will ever move out once their kids can actually form sentences? Or will they milk the ever loving shit out of Prime’s ‘daycare’ that is NEST.

On one hand, Those scraplettes are being raised on a remote island away from the populace that’s pretty safe. Though the downside being that their (hopefully) good influence of an Uncle exists in close proximity at all times.

On the other hand, no Prime to make their kids soft. And also less accidental voyeurs.

By the time the hatchlings are even toddler age they will have gotten so attached to the Autobots and humans, they won't want to leave.

And Starscream's not going to go anywhere without his hatchlings.

...Megatron will leave all of them, but he'll realise pretty quick that he's a) sad and lonely and b) functionally useless without at least one underling to boss around. So he'll back in a week.

Could I read N.E.S.T.ing without having watched the Bayverse movies?

A lot of the characters in N.E.S.T.ing are movie specific characters as it focuses on the human cast's pov, but it shouldn't be anything a quick Google couldn't fix, so I'm going to cautiously say maybe?

Spoon I miss N.E.S.Ting series so much especially when it comes to Mikaela and starscream relationship and of course the hatchlings. I hope you update it if you have the time one day (⁠ㆁ⁠ω⁠ㆁ⁠).

I'm sure I will update it one day! There's still lots to explore, especially Mikaela continuing to meddle in Decepticon affairs to further her ambitious goal of getting Megatron to actually act just a little NORMAL for once, so help her god

All of them! Megatron might be useless but Uncle Optimus isn't going to let anything happen to any of them
