14. Introduce an OC with a tragic backstory

A little background, in the NAASF universe, there’s these people called royals. A royal is someone who has the ability to grant powers to other people, and therefore being in power in the mythic realm (but not the mortal realm because of bullshit elf politics). And currently there’s four of them, Dorandin, Morinaxis, Raiadexin, Ratekniel. So, Dorandin is kind of an asshole, and he essentially goes “Fuck all of you guys I’m leaving” because of a whole bunch of different politics and also because Ratekniel is a huge asshole. He goes and sets up shop and works on a plan for conquering the mortal realm, which, he isn’t even allowed to be in the mortal realm so that shit is kinda illegal for many reasons. Now, Cecil baker, the Oc with a tragic backstory, was the child of two of Dorandin’s closest friends and advisors. Around the same time as Dorandin went int he mortal realm, Cecil’s parents ended up dead, in around 2007 when Cecil was like ten, he never figured out exactly why, but he knew that they had been murdered. Because they were so close to Dorandin, Dorandin took Cecil in. About three years later, Cecil decides, with encouragement from his new best friend Victoria, who is also a chargem that he to wants to become a charge of Dorandin like his parents had been, and get powers from him. This is when shit goes sideways.

Now, Dorandin gives soul based powers, right, with the added bonus of hypnotism on the side, so Cecil’s new super power manifests as him becoming psychic. Soul based powers do weird ass shit to a persons soul, almost damaging it in a way. Dorandin is like “Hmm hey here’s an interesting thing Soul powers do, and hey! It’s possible to generate energy from that! That’s so cool I can use that to fund my word conquering or whatever the fuck, Does any one wanna help?” and Cecil is like “Haha sure” Then everythings going okay, right. They’re refining the technology, They figure this can be a pretty harmless things to the test subject. 

Then someone fucks up and they rip Cecils entire fucking soul out, and every one’s panicking and whatever until Victoria , Cecil’s dear friend, pops up and says “We have hypnotism powers guys, he can’t do jack shit to resist whatever we tell him to do he doesn’t have a soul, what if instead of like, making an army of people with thoughts and feelings and basic human morals we do this shit to them? Then, look, see his soul even tries to take bits of other peoples souls to restart itself if we hone that he can take specific parts of peoples souls, like their powers and mimic them! It’s perfect!” Then Dorandin is like “That isn’t what we intended to do but that also works yeah, yeah okay I like your thinking! Great idea!” 

They use Cecil in this state to kidnap other people to test this out on, and for killing quite a lot of people. This goes on for seven years because they can’t quite figure out how they did it in the first place, and they end up killing everyone that they try to replicate the results on. He spends this whole time  trying to do something about him being like this and not being able to, seeing everyone he knew and cared about give him orders to do terrible things and use him and he can’t do anything about it. Well, he gets very passive aggresive about it, but only when he’s actually stolen someone else’s powers and therefore his soul works enough for him to actually do that and Victoria, who now functions as his handler can’t do jack shit about that and it pisses her off to no end.

20. Do any of your OCs sing? If they sing, care to share more details (headcanon voice, what kind of songs they like etc)?

Avery (SMIYHTOB) Sings, Avery sings a lot. They actually have like, three canon scenes where they burst into song. They aren’t that bad when they put effort into it, it’s usually pop or punk pop songs. A lot of Imagine Dragons and Panic! at the disco mostly. A little bit of Twenty one pilots, but only when they have their ukelele. 

Aquarium sings, and they hum little tunes sometimes when they’re working.

Carrie (NAASF) can rap like tomorrow isn’t a thing, Tom tries to sing but he fails. He damn well sings anyways. Harriet Has the best singing voice of the lot. Victoria has a whole music thing going on, of course she sings. Jessie would be good at singing but they haven’t sung of their own free will since they were like 8.

23. Introduce OC that has changed from your first idea concerning what the character would be like?

I think that would have to be either Khione or Alison, probably because they’ve been around the longest! It’s interesting because they originated kinda as very similar characters and a lot of traits they ended up swapping

Khione and me have always had some kind of weird love hate relationship. She was originally a fairy in a winx club rp from back when I was like eleven. She had time travel powers and illusion powers. She ranged from angsty mc angst lord to devil may care chaotic trickster in the course of five minutes. God damn did she get some angsty plot lines. She was not very well rounded, and I recognised how she kept hogging all the damn plots and despite the fact that the other girl I was roleplaying with had fourteen fucking characters I somehow managed to get a majority of the major plot points. Because of this, I was like, okay, and I tried to kill her off, but the session after that happened I kinda just went back to roleplaying her as if nothing had happened, or the next session never happened. I can’t remember. 

A few months later I discovered homestuck and I realised, Khione fits the naming pattern for trolls! So, I was on warriorcatsrpg.com, and I applied for a homestuck rp with Khione, along with Adhara who wasn’t called Adhara at the time. That rp never started, so in my lovely self insert Homestuck fanventure I decided “Yes, a group of trolls sounds great” and guess who showed up? I never got far enough in to introduce Khio, but Adhara showed up to sass my self insert.

And then at some shakespeare competition or whatever I met this one Nerd. you probably wouldn’t know her, she’s really cool. Anyways I was invited to a homestuck role-play and I needed a troll character and I loved her so I picked her. From that she is now officially for the first time in her existence she is an original character, from an alien species called Alvertilio

Khione has lost the whole tricksterish demeanour, now she’s more bitter and sarcastic, though a few key characteristics have carried through, for example she still has the inability to admit that she considers people friends or even care’s about anyone, she’s still constantly disappearing off to good knows where, and is terrible at communicating with her team. Her motivations now are clearer and her whole antisocial attitude makes much more sense. Interestingly enough, the original Khio had serious trust issues, whereas Khio now does trust people. She’s also been given a more aggressive inclination. She has become less of a hero, more of an anti hero and even that’s a little generous. 

Alison Avery, I can’t remember where she came from. I think I made up a story where she went to hogwarts at one point? That wasn’t her main story but she was used for that. Only one page was written. She had a sword, she could turn into a cat I think? She also, similarly to Khio had trust issues except her trust issues were worse. Honestly one day I thought the name Alison Avery sounded cool she was in many things also when I was eleven. I don’t remember all of them. She was literally my go too character for everything

(Fun piece of trivia, the whole joke of calling Avery Jones “Aviary”, and subsequently Aquarium being called Aquarium was because when I mentioned Alison to someone they thought I said Aviary not Avery and they were like “that’s a bird sanctuary!” and I was like “cool”)

Alison now has clear consistent characterisation. in 2014 I wrote a short piece about  a time traveling rebel, featuring her. There was another piece of writing I was working on at the time, entitled not an Arasol ship fic, as it was Totally not an arasol shipfic in any way shape or form. I wasn’t sure where I was going with it, all I knew was three characters, Adelaide, Jessie and Tom. Then I had the idea of sticking the two pieces of writing together, and now Alison is a Devil-May-Care rebel who travels back in time to prevent a dictator from rising to power, purely to spite her overly protective brother. Her Ancestor, Thomas Avery , is a psychic working with a scientist, Fae Morgan, also a psychic, who isstudying “soul based powers”.  Alison makes contact with them and recruits Fae’s team, Including Carrie and Harriette Mascilino, both with abnormal telekinesis, Adelaide Parker, A ghost who is trying to solve her and her best friends murder, and Kyle Veblem, who has healing powers.

If Alison isn’t the character portrayed as a suave womaniser then that’s wrong because she is the suave womaniser of the group let’s face it
