This is the day when the NADFAS gave me a title of RBA Scholar. It was in San Roque Club – very prestigious place for the people who like elite golf. I have never been in this kind of places/presentation/ceremony before. This was the great honour to be there. Many people who understand and know art so well came to the ceremony. Many Thanks to Mr Harris, Mrs Bannel and my brother Andrey, who were supporting me on that day.
This competition was the first great achievement that I had in my lifetime. I hope that it’s not the last one =)
“The Secret of Branches”
Angelina Popelnykh. 2015. Pencil on paper.
“This work by Angelina featured in her Diploma Exhibition at Sotogrande International School in May 2015. It was submitted for consideration by the Royal Society of British Artists (RBA) for their annual show through our connections with DFAS de la Frontera.
This year 55 Societies submitted 348 works from 89 schools to the RBA. Of these only 22 works were chosen for exhibition.
Angelina’s work is the only piece chosen from mainland Europe and she becomes an official NADFAS “RBA Scholar”
There will be a presentation ceremony at the DFAS 10th Anniversary meeting at the San Roque Club in October attended by the CEO of NADFAS, Florian Schweizer
The 22 chosen works will be exhibited firstly at Lloyds Register Gallery (London) in February and March 2016 and then at the RBA annual show at The Mall Galleries in March and April.”
I cant hold my breath.. I got this from my Art Teaher Mr Harris... My work was chosen by The Royal Society of British Artists.
