Gae'chlell has magical empathy, which means that he's extra sensitive of emotions of others, but also if emotions are strong enough at a particular time, he can pick up the remnants of that years later. Never really presented much of a problem when he was hiding away in the shop, but...
So when the residue anger, bloodlust, desperation, etc. from the Coliseum triggers a panic attack, it surprises him just as much as Nadia. He doesn't remember ever having a panic attack before. gets stuck seeing the deaths of hundreds of people, he isn't here anymore at all.
Nadia doesn't have much experience with panic attacks. But she does her best, and going forward his panic attacks are something they work on addressing together. she does what she can to learn how to help him once an attack starts. but also... "why did you not tell me when you began to feel unwell?"
and it's true. he ignored the stress and worry for several minutes before it became too much. he doesn't want to be a burden, that's all... Nadia's having none of that. "I need you well, Gae'chlell. You will tell me if this happens again, so I can help you."
