And seeing as Sorato is one of those things I just /absolutely/ love and is one of my ultimate favourite ships ever, I enjoyed your posts even more (and I'm forever grateful you translated all those conversations. I watched the German dub which is pretty much 1:1 to the Japanese original unlike the English dub, so none of context of the translations were new to me, but it was so interesting to see how different the English dub was and frankly, Taiora biased).

I usually reply privately to messages like this, but I thought it was interesting what you said about the German dub of Digimon being faithful to the original Japanese, and how it was interesting for you to read about the differences and the Taiora bias shown in the English dub.

I’ve had other Sorato fans send me messages saying they grew up watching the Latin American dub - which, they told me, is also quite faithful to the original Japanese - and that my posts pointing out the Taiora exaggeration in the English dub really surprised them as well. And also that they were really glad they didn’t have to grow up watching the English dub with said Taiora exaggeration. ;)

I have no problem with people interpreting friendship as something romantic - as is the case for many people with Taiora in the first season - but I also find it really exasperating when someone actually thinks there’s no difference in impact of Taiora at all between the original Japanese and the English dub.

And I feel as though it’s people like you who prove that there is. :)
