So the January post on old textile arts, values and everything made me discover nailbinding! (@aetherograph mentioned it being especially warm, and I like being warm in winter)

After trying it out with a pair of slippers and mittens (a gift I still haven't given to their intended recipient... Oops.) (First picture) (I pooled them so the picture wouldn't take as much screen space...)

I decided to embark into a whole sweater journey!

So since I mentioned it on Ao3 and had questions about it, I have, at last, decided to take pictures and share them!!!

Behold! The (in progress) nailbinding sweater!

I mostly work on it while watching YouTube videos (think Nicole Rudolf) on the TV, which I don't do that often,so it is slow going.

So over Christmas my incredible father in law let me poke around in his workshop and when I was oohing over this scrap of kokobolo wood and chatting about making my own nålbinding needles he picked it up and whipped out this BEAUTIFUL needle in like under 20 minutes flat 😭❤️❤️ so I am spending the weekend learning finally!! Scrap practice sample using some 2-ply handspun eri silk because it is SO soft and a good weight
