Headcanon, the Strilalondes nails:
-Dave and Dirk always have painted nails because of those sneaky lalondes.
-Roxy painting Dirk's in bright and fun colors, she started out sloppy as first but now they're as good as a professional. Most of the time, they'll be rainbow colored with pink glitter, since she tends to try to paint his moods.
-If his nails are black; leave him alone.
-However, Dirk has this bad habit of ripping his nails. He'll be at a desk, reading something, and absentmindedly pick at his nails. Though, ever since Roxy started, he's been managing to stop this bad habit to preserve her work.
-Also, working with machines as often as he does, his paint gets chipped often. Roxy will pretend to be annoyed when he comes back for a new coat, but everyone know she loves doing it.
-They change coats every week, or sometimes days depending on Dirk's mood. Sometimes the same colors will stay for months.
-Dave, at first, hated having Rose pull his hand towards her and slather the black on his nails, but this was on the meteor, and not a lot of things happen on the meteor. He warms up to it, and casually comes back to her until it becomes part of their routine.
- "its ironic rose" "Sure, it is."
-Rose mainly plays with dark colors, like greys, purples, and blacks. It's rare to see Dave's nails a bright color like Dirk's.
- (when he told Rose about him and Karkat, his nails were grey and red for weeks.)
-She makes up with the color with her intricate designs, she can pull off a SJHB in seconds, her tiny crows are unbelievable, and once she even drew the whole family on each of his fingers.
-Dave, like Roxy, has this uncanny ability to always bite his nails. It's a very bad, strong habit no matter how hard he tries to break it.
-His record for not biting his nails is five days and two hours, he lost because he was chewing on them when mixing music.
-Dave and Dirk once held a competition of who had the better nails. (Kanaya somehow won and she wasn't even in the contest; they both agree with the ruling though.)
-Roxy and Rose's nails are usually unpainted, because they have stickers on them. They only use nail stickers for their nails, and when being asked about it, they just shrugged. Let the Striders have the paint, they said.
