Long are the days where a top coat’s function was to just protect two coats of your nail polish. Today, the market is filled with a wide range of top coats - they can dramatically change the look of your especially if you’re dabbling in nail art designs. So... what is the right top coat for you? Check out our top 5 recommendations to ensure your nails look like perfection and stay chip free... 

1. Seche Vite - The Ultra Glossy Top Coat

Number one on the list is one of our all time favourite top coats, Seche Vite. Known as the world’s finest top coat, it promises to be ultra shiny and fast drying, leaving nails feeling stronger. Some have said this pairs up well with Chanel’s base coat and the best thing about this one is, you can apply while nail polish is still wet.

2. Essie No chips Ahead - The Durable Top Coat

This  bottle is an oldie but goodie and is a top coat we always go back to as it does what it says in the tin. If you’re not looking for a fancy, shiny top coat then this bottle is for you. It’s durable and promises to extend the life of your nail colour. You should be warned, unlike many other top coats available in the market today, No Chips Ahead does take some time to dry.

3. China Glaze Matte Magic Flat Top Coat - The Matte Finish Coat 

This little find will ‘matt-i-fy’ your nails, without altering the base colour. Great to experiment with a range of nail art designs such as polka dots as well as matte manicures combined with glossy tips. However, those purchasing this should be warned that the bottle is only 9.6ml (most top coats are 14ml!) They do say, good things come in small packages.

4. Dr Remedy - The Healthy Top Coat

If you’re looking for a vegan top coat, free from Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resin, Toluene and Parabens, then you need Dr Remedy in your life. It contains Tea Tree Oil, vitamins C and E to promote healthy nails and amino acids which naturally increases shine. This coat gives your nails an elegant finish.

5. OPI  RapiDry -  The Fast Drying Top Coat  

If you’re always in a rush or on the go, then this is the top coat for you. OPI RapiDry helps to dry your nail polish in seconds. We are also big fans of OPI’s well known wide brushes which makes application of this top coat easy to apply. It also looks amazing on a variety of colours.
