I really wish people would stop using national adoption month to advertise themselves in hopes of getting a baby. Or agencies telling pregnant women to choose life and choose adoption. National Adoption Month is for foster kids. There are many foster kids who will never be considered for adoption. So this month was supposed to be used for them. To get people to consider them.
This month is also being used to help give adoptees a voice. We adoptees are told over and over again to be grateful. We’re supposed to drink the koolaid. We’re made into poster kids because we’re adopted. We always get shut down. People need to listen to us. Especially adoptive parents and agencies.
I was adopted as an infant. I can’t imagine not having a family. The kids in foster care are in need. Please consider them.
