Although I understand that each participant has a responsibility to keep dialogue interesting, I find it appalling whilst mid-conversation when a converser becomes unengaged. There is effort that goes unappreciated in the art of conversation. Sometimes, speaking to people face to face is much more challenging for one person than to another. Sometimes, we are is such haste that we cannot afford the time it takes to engage. Sometimes, we overlook how much someone wants to spend time in our company, reading our facial queues during discussion. Bottom line - when you decide to have a conversation with someone, BE IN THAT MOMENT. Focus solely on your partner and ENGAGE.
