that’s really rare, since i usually hear more of people being afraid of the latter! is there a reason why??
yup!!! when i was young, i almost drowned in a pool bc no one noticed it'd drifted out to the middle and lost my footing. i saved myself because death can't take me any day and it scarred me ever since. when we went to the beach years later i'd never go into the pool or deeper into the ocean because i didn't know how to swim and was scared i'd drown, but my cousin taught me how to swim in the ocean and i was really panicked every time i got bowled over to the point where i ended up crying on the beach covered in sea salt, but i got used to it over the few days because i wanted to swim with my family and voila
i was no longer scared of swimming in the ocean, which can kill you a number of hundred ways, but i still feel hella uncomfortable in the pool. i guess because i realize i need to have heightened caution when dealing with the first and you shouldn't have that with the latter
