i know it's fun for everyone to theorize on my past name or whatever, cause that's what fandom and it's pretty harmless, but i'll be honest, i'm not enjoying the idea of anyone finding out. if they hear it once nobody is ever gonna let it go even though i moved on from it a long, long time ago. i don't want anyone to call me it. i don't want to see anyone calling me it. clearly. otherwise, i wouldn't have chosen a new name for myself. simple as. hoping canon just... never reveals it.

I don't particularly care about the discussion of whether or not it's appropriation to use kin names of other cultures (I think it depends on the context) however I will say, as a latino, that you at the very least could write the fucking names right if you're going to use them. It's not that hard. I could maybe forgive Felix instead of Félix or Agustin instead of Agustín because English doesn't use acute accents and it's easy to forget them if you aren't used to them or know what they're for. Writing Isabela as Isabella is more sus, but the two names are pretty similar and some might not realize the Spanish version is written differently, but. Delores I can't forgive.

It's Dolores. It's written Dolores literally everywhere. How do you even make that mistake?

(Also, maybe don't give any of the characters very clearly English nicknames. It feels very weird).

Kin pet peeve: People referring to Kusuo as Saiki. I mean, it is his last name, and people in the source call him by it all the time. It's not weird or unusual or insulting... But as the other Saiki it annoys me a lot sometimes dhshshsjshdhdjsjaj.

Also I just really like his name. Kusuo. Why wouldn't you want to use it? It's the prettiest sound in the world - Saiki Kusuke.

I love knowing the real name of a character who was only ever referred to with a pseudonym in canon. Maybe one day I’ll “suggest” his actual name to the fandom, but for now, I think it’s more fun to watch everyone else be completely wrong about it.

This is a pretty minor nitpick and not something that bothers me that much most of the time, but it's so annoying whenever I read a fix and my family calls me "Milo". Like... That's not a nickname most latinos would use. I was nicknamed Cami, because that's a much more natural thing for us to say.

This is not like a callout or anything- it's hardly an issue. I don't even think it's culturally insensitive because sometimes latino nicknames can be weird to outsiders (Did you know Pepa is a nickname for Josefa, and Dolores are usually nicknamed Lola?) so it's not like I expect them to get it. Saw a couple of asks about why people who kin Mangle still go by Mangle, and as one of said people, I'd love to explain my reasoning!

I actually JUST figured out that I had a seperate name of my own before Mangle! I was never a Foxy/Toy Foxy animatronic, I was a brand new character named Marina they were temporarily trying out to see how the change in cast sat with the guests (and, maybe, to even out the cast to be 2 boys and 2 girls). I was programmed to be Foxy's younger sister, and talked about it a little bit in my little stage show that I had between roaming around the "kiddy pool" aka the toddler hangout area.

Once I was broken beyond repair and left as a take apart monster (/lh), they started calling me Mangled Marina, which was shortened to just "the Mangle," and I think eventually, because I was so damaged, I didn't really remember my original name very well. I think the other animatronics forgot, too. So I still use Mangle, even though I remember (and LOVE being called!!) my original character name.

Shit That Hits Different: Kin Addition

-Getting called your kin name (bonus points if it’s from a close friend or a canonmate)

-Finding kin clothes, especially when it fits like a charm

-“You remind me of ____ so much” “Your laugh sounds just like ____/you sound like the voice actor” “Can I nickname you ____? I think of you every time I think of them”

-Sharing mems with someone and you can finish each other’s sentences when describing everything

-Soft mems. The ones that some people would call mundane but they mean the world to you

-Finding food/drinks/music/etc that reminds you of your canon and makes you feel at home again
