The Thousand Sunny stops near a bright, sunny island. The air smells like fruit and warm sand. Everyone is excited.
“Let’s go buy things!” Luffy shouts the moment he jumps on the dock.
You laugh “Of course you want to.”
Nami walks beside you, her orange hair shining in the sun “I need new pens for my maps,” she says “And maybe something cute, if I see it.”
You smile at her “Something cute will look good on you.”
Her cheeks turn a little pink “Stop… but also keep saying it.” she says with a grin.
You all walk into the busy market. People shout about food, clothes, tools. There are bright fabrics, fruits stacked in big piles, and shiny objects everywhere.
You stay close to Nami, happy just walking next to her. But then something catches your eye.
A jewelry stall. Necklaces, earrings, rings in gold, silver, little gems. One necklace shines in a soft orange that reminds you of Nami’s hair.
“That would look perfect on her” you think.
You step a little closer. The stall owner smiles too wide, but you don’t notice yet. You reach toward the necklace…
A loud sound echoes in the distance.
You turn your head fast.
Luffy is already punching some tiny pirates. They look weak. One flies through the air and lands in a fruit stand.
Nami sighs “He finds trouble so fast.”
“They’re small,” you say “He can handle it.”
Usopp nods “Yeah, this is nothing for Luffy.”
Then “AAAAAH! HELP!”
Chopper’s scream cuts through the market.
Your heart jumps. You spin around to run toward him but something cold touches your side.
A gun.
Pointed at you.
You freeze. Slowly, you look at the jewelry stall owner again, and now he doesn’t smile. His eyes are sharp.
Around you, more pirates pull out weapons. The whole market erupts into chaos. The crew starts fighting too.
You whisper, “Are you… their captain?”
He smirks “Yes. And you will come with me. Make your crew surrender.”
You swallow hard “Fine. I’ll go.”
You walk with him because, well, gun. But when the Straw Hats see you being pushed forward, they pause for a second. Worry flashes in their eyes.
Then you give them a small smile.
A real, calm one.
Nami’s eyes widen, and she nods slightly. She knows you’re okay. Luffy grins again and goes back to punching.
The captain growls “Why are they not stopping?! I said surrender!”
You shrug “Well… they don’t listen very well.”
His face turns red with anger.
The pirate captain pushes his gun even closer to you, the metal almost touching your ribs.
“Move one more step,” he growls, “and I shoot.”
You don’t blink. But your eyes shift when you hear a small noise from the stall beside you.
Someone is there.
You turn your head a little.
A young man, around your age, is hiding behind his stall. His hands shake as he slowly reaches for a metal pipe leaning against a crate. His eyes meet yours.
He mouths, “Ready?”
You nod once.
He throws the pipe with all his strength.
You catch it cleanly.
Before the captain can react, you make one fast, smooth motion and hit the gun out of his hand. It flies so far away that it disappears.
“What—?!” he shouts.
Now you point the pipe at his chest.
“Sit.” you say simply.
Then you push.
He falls backward onto the ground with a loud THUD.
His crew gasps. They all look at each other… then slowly drop their weapons.
“We surrender!” one says, shaking.
The captain groans on the ground “Fine… fine! I surrender too!”
Luffy cracks his knuckles and grins “Okay! Then leave!”
The pirates run so fast they almost trip over each other.
You exhale and lower the pipe. Then you turn to the young stall owner.
“Thank you” you say softly.
He blushes “You were amazing… really cool… and uh… really beautiful.”
You blink, surprised, but before you can answer, Sanji steps in smoothly with a smile.
“Calm down, man,” Sanji says, tapping his shoulder “She’s married.”
The man freezes, eyes wide “Oh—I didn’t know you two were marr—”
Usopp cuts in loudly “She has a wife, actually!”
The man’s jaw drops “SHE— SHE HAS A WIFE?!”
You smile proudly “Yes. I do.”
Nami steps up beside you.
Without a word, she takes your wrist gently and lifts your hand forward.
Your ring glitters in the sun, orange stone, like her hair.
Then she holds her own hand next to yours.
Her ring has the same design, but with your favorite color instead.
The young man stares, then nods fast “That’s… that’s really nice. I’m happy for you both.”
Nami squeezes your hand and leans closer with a tiny smile “Of course she’s taken,” she says “I found her first.”
Your heart melts a little.
And the market suddenly feels warm again.
The pirates are gone. The market slowly returns to normal, though there are still broken crates and smashed fruit everywhere.
You stretch your shoulders “Well… that was something.”
Nami is still holding your hand.
Still staring at you.
You tilt your head “Nami?”
She jumps a little “W-What? I wasn’t staring!”
Usopp snorts “You totally were.”
“Shut up, Usopp!”
The young man who helped you is already cleaning his stall, but he keeps peeking at you with a shy smile. Nami notices. Oh, she definitely notices… and her eye twitches.
Chopper whispers to Robin, “Is Nami angry…? Should I run?”
Robin pats his head “Maybe. Just move slowly and she’ll ignore you.”
Chopper squeaks and hides behind her anyway.
You look at Nami again “Are you okay?”
She crosses her arms hard “I’m fine. Perfect. Absolutely not bothered.”
Sanji sighs out a heart-shaped cloud “She’s jealous.”
“I AM NOT!” Nami yells.
You blink… then smile “Nami… you know I only care about you, right?”
She tries to keep her angry face. She fails.
She looks away, cheeks turning red “I know. I know. It’s just—”
She stops herself, groans, then points at you dramatically “You were… you were really hot during that fight, okay?!”
The entire crew gasps.
Luffy leans in “Hot like ‘spicy food’ or hot like ‘Nami is in love’?”
Nami kicks him in the face instantly “SHUT UP!”
Chopper screams and hides again “She’s dangerous! She’s in jealous mode!”
Nami continues, ignoring everyone. She waves her arms angrily “And that stupid guy was right! And I hate agreeing with a random man. Especially about that. Ugh!”
You laugh softly “So… you think I looked good?”
She steps close to you until your noses almost touch.
“I always think you look good,” she says, voice dropping to a soft whisper, “but today? You were unreal.”
Your heart does a full flip.
Sanji falls to his knees crying “Why can’t I be them—?!”
Zoro flicks him on the head “Move. You’re blocking the path.”
Nami finally uncrosses her arms and takes your hand again, this time calmer.
“Next time,” she says, “warn me before you do something cool. I need to prepare.”
You grin “I’ll try.”
She pulls you closer by your collar and kisses your cheek quickly “Good.”
Chopper hides behind a barrel “She kissed her! Jealous mode is gone! We’re safe!”
Nami glances at him. He screams again. Everyone laughs.
And the two of you walk deeper into the market, hand in hand, rings gleaming in the sun.
Then you see the broken jewelry stall, the spot where the pirate captain stood.
You stop suddenly making Nami stops too “Hmm? What’s wrong?”
You shake your head “I… um… can you go ahead? I’ll catch up.”
She looks confused, eyes narrowing “Why?”
You smile softly “It’s nothing bad. Promise.”
She studies your face for a long second, searching for any danger. When she sees none, she sighs “Fine. But don’t take too long.”
She walks back to the rest of the crew, though she glances over her shoulder twice.
You turn and run toward the young man who helped you earlier. He’s sweeping up pieces of wood from his stall.
He looks up, blush instantly rising on his cheeks “O-Oh. Hi again.”
“I’m sorry to bother you,” you say, pointing at the jewelry stall “But… that stall. Was it really his? Or did he steal it?”
The man looks at where you point “That was his stall. He said his family left him all that jewelry and he wanted to sell it to ‘give it a new life’.”
He shrugs “But honestly? He said something different to everyone. So who knows.”
You think for a moment.
He watches you, curious “Why do you ask? Did you want something from it?”
Your cheeks warm “Yeah… there was a necklace. A really beautiful one. I wanted to buy it for Nami before he attacked me.”
His face goes even redder “Oh.”
Then he smiles a little shyly “You should take it. The village will share his things anyway. And, well… you saved us today. You deserve it.”
You look over at Nami. She’s far away with the crew… but very clearly staring at you. She does not look happy that you’re talking to the guy again.
You turn back to him quickly “Thank you! I’ll take just that one, then. Really, thank you for the help with the metal pipe.”
He rubs the back of his neck and looks away “No worries… I did what I could. I’ll keep cheering for you and your crew from now on!”
You grin “That’s really sweet. Goodbye then.”
You run to the jewelry stall.
You kneel down, push aside some broken wood, and find the necklace you saw earlier, the one that shines like Nami’s hair.
You lift it gently, the gem catching the sunlight, glowing warm and soft.
A huge smile spreads across your face.
Then you hide it carefully in your pocket and run back to the crew.
Nami sees you.
She does not look happy.
Her eyes narrow. Her lips press together. Her whole face screams mad wife.
Luffy grins “Okay! Let’s go!”
Nami turns away from you immediately and starts walking with fast, sharp steps.
You gasp dramatically “Nami! I’m sorry! I just went to thank him because I didn’t earlier!”
She walks faster.
You pout and drag your feet behind her like a sad puppy “Namiiii…”
Sanji sighs with a hand over his heart “Poor angel! Jealousy is a cruel beast—”
Zoro smacks him on the back of the head “Shut up before she hears you and kills all of us.”
Chopper hides behind Brook “She’s so scary when she’s mad!”
The rest of the walk is you pouting and Nami refusing to look at you.
That evening, just before dinner, you find her talking quietly with Usopp near the deck.
You step closer “Sorry… can I steal my wife for a moment?”
Usopp nods quickly “Please do. I don’t want to be between you two when she explodes.”
Nami makes a face at him, but she follows you outside anyway.
She crosses her arms, pretending she’s still angry, but she glances at you from the corner of her eye.
You smile softly “Nami… sorry I lied earlier. I didn’t go to him just to thank him.”
She looks shocked “You— you WHAT?!”
You laugh a little. Her reaction is adorable.
“When that captain attacked me,” you explain gently, “I was looking at a necklace. A beautiful orange one. I was imagining you wearing it.”
Her eyes widen, and her cheeks warm.
“But then he pointed that gun at me…” you continue “I wanted to take it afterward, but I wasn’t sure if it belonged to an innocent person he stole it from. So I asked. And the guy said… I could have it.”
You reach into your pocket and pull out the necklace.
It glows in the sunset light, soft orange, warm and bright.
Nami’s breath catches. Her eyes shine.
“It will look beautiful on you.” you say quietly.
Her whole face melts.
She steps forward and hugs you tight out of nowhere. You blink, then hug her back just as strongly.
She pulls away only to press a gentle kiss to your lips “Thank you… and I’m sorry for how I acted today.”
You shake your head “Don’t worry. If I were you, I’d do the same. Maybe even worse.”
She laughs softly “You probably would.”
You kiss her again, soft and warm.
Then she turns around. She lifts her hair up with both hands, exposing the back of her neck.
“Put it on me?” she asks in a small, sweet voice she only uses with you.
You smile so hard your cheeks hurt.
You stand behind her, lift the necklace carefully, and place it around her neck.
You clasp it gently.
She lets her hair fall again and turns to you with a shy smile.
It suits her perfectly.
Nami steps back just enough to look at the necklace again. Her fingers touch the orange gem, and she beams “I love it! It’s so cute!! Just like you!!”
Before you can react, she throws her arms around you, pulling you close again. Her face is inches from yours, eyes soft and warm.
“I love you so much, Y/N…” she whispers.
Your heart melts instantly.
You cup her cheek gently “I love you too.”
She kisses you again, soft, slow, full of warmth. Her hands slide to your waist, holding you as if she never wants to let go.
But then—
“DINNER IS READY! COME EAT!” Sanji screams from across the deck.
You both jump.
Nami sighs “I swear I’m going to kick him into the ocean one day.”
You laugh, and she grabs your hand tightly “Come on. Let’s go before he has a heart attack.”
You walk together toward the table, fingers intertwined, your hearts still warm and soft from your little moment.
The crew instantly notices, of course.
Usopp points dramatically “SHE’S WEARING A NEW NECKLACE! A NEW POWER-UP!”
Chopper gasps “It’s so pretty! You look so happy, Nami!”
Brook leans in “Yohoho! Love looks good on both of you! Although I have no eyes to see!”
Sanji drops to his knees in defeat “Why… why do the beautiful ones always belong to someone else…”
Zoro rolls his eyes “Because you’re annoying.”
Robin smiles gently “It suits you perfectly, Nami.”
Franky gives a thumbs-up “SUPER cute!”
Luffy chews meat and nods “Shiny!”
Nami blushes but lifts her chin proudly “Of course it’s shiny. My wife picked it.”
The whole crew smiles proud.
Usopp says “She said my wife again!!”
Chopper starts giggling “They’re so in love!”
Nami squeezes your hand under the table. You squeeze back.
Dinner is loud, chaotic, and full of laughter, but all you feel is her shoulder brushing yours, her ring glinting beside yours, her eyes looking at you every few minutes like she can’t believe you’re real.
As the sun sets on the ship, you lean your head on Nami’s shoulder.
She rests her head on yours.
And the whole world feels warm.
