I've seen some understandable confusion about the term "positive symptoms" and "negative symptoms", with people thinking that this is a value judgment of whether the symptoms are pleasant/good for you or if they are bad for you.
This is not at all related.
Positive/negative is a poorly named psychiatric convention for grouping types of symptoms of schizophrenia. According to psychiatric convention ALL of these symptoms are bad for you.
"Positive" doesn't indicate that it's a positive in your life, it's just a psychiatric convention to refer to symptoms that are "additions to your experience that "normal" people don't have, like hallucinations and delusions. The symptoms themselves are often inconvenient, painful and debilitating.
And likewise, negative doesn't refer to how painful negative symptoms are, but it's named that way to indicate that it's something that us schizos tend to "lack" that other people have more of, such as motivation and energy and drive.
I hope this helps clear it up!
