mike doesnt have a lot of social media accounts but nanaba has about all of them, and her instagram is more of a couples account more than her personal one. pictures of mike and her going on dates is more occurring than anything else and her instagram stories are filled with cute videos and pictures of their two dogs. usually snooring loudly on their papa mikes chest.

they’ve been dubbed The cute couple™️ by their friends, they’re always holding hands or calling each other by petnames. no one knows where the pet names comes from but theres a bet going on that no one seems to be winning.

I love how there's only been one on-screen/on-panel Mikenana interactions yet everyone just assumes that Mike and Nanaba were at the very least hooking up on the side. I don't blame y'all. Tall strong man and tall strong woman? I get it.

Mike and Nanaba were in the same trainee squad, though Nanaba was actually two years older than Mike (17) compared to Erwin (16), Mike (15), and Nile (15), and she constantly rubbed that in their faces

She was also taller than Mike at first - he was short when he was younger, but in their second year of training he grew like a weed - almost thirty centimeters in four months

Mike was better at the 3DMG at first, but Nanaba could flatten him when they sparred until he gained 30cm and like 25kilos - that meant she had to find new ways to dump his ass on the ground, but while he was getting used to the new build she would tease him for tripping everywhere

They were super close as trainees and told each other almost everything - Nanaba held Mike tight when he told her about the things his father had done to him

Their fellow trainees would tease her for constantly being around him, and as they neared their second year Erwin went to ask Nanaba if she liked Mike

She was pretty embarrassed at being so see through, but Erwin just encouraged her to do something about it, especially since they were nearing graduation

When Mike turned seventeen Nanaba gave him a bouquet of wildflowers she’d snuck out to get and kissed him

As they got closer to graduation she, Mike, Erwin, and Nile started to seriously talk about what part of the military they were going into

Nile tried really hard to get Nanaba to go to the Military Police - he told her that it meant she and Mike could get married and be happy and everything. She slapped him

When they graduated Mike was at the top of the class, followed by Erwin in 2nd, Nanaba in 4th, and Nile in 7th

Nanaba and Mike continued to be together when they joined the Survey Corps, though they both agreed to never say the big words - “I love you”; “Let’s leave” “Let’s get married”

Nanaba was actually asexual, so most nights they spent together consisted of cuddling and holding hands as they talked quietly

Mike was actually super creative, so he would write stories and give them to Nanaba, or tell her stories while they lay there at night

After their first expedition Mike went to Nanaba and she pushed him onto her bunk, crawled into his lap, and held him tight. He didn’t really come back to himself until a few days later when normal duties resumed

After that Nanaba would go to Mike following every expedition and hold him. He would never speak or cry, but she knew that he was struggling to cope with it and that the emotions would come out eventually. But doing that meant she could get him to doze for a bit without nightmares

Their moves became very synchronized, and they became a very powerful duo on the battlefield, which is why they ultimately ended up in the same squad (and because Mike refused to be apart from her) - the only partnership that was stronger than the two of them was Levi and Mike

Nanaba actually liked Levi from the beginning, though Mike distrusted him. She was the one to convince him to work with Levi and bear with him, which ultimately benefited everyone

Nanaba was kind of like a mother hen to all new recruits. Mike secretly thought it was adorable, and dreamed of them having children of their own on a farm, though he only told that to Erwin, and mentioned it to Hanji a few times

Mike’s hands were surprisingly soft - they were callused, but the way he could cradle Nanaba’s face and body made her feel safe and warm, no matter where they were

One time during an expedition Mike gave her the last full gas cannister even though his was almost empty. When she found out she kicked his ass

They never said they loved each other when the other could hear it. Nanaba would mouth it into the bed on the rare occasion they did fuck, and Mike would breathe it into their hair as she slept on him, curled up like a kitten
