What if they actually did break the curse in 4x03?

Temperance knew that Ace is Nancy's blind spot and that she will do everything to protect him. I'm sure she was aware that Ace will do the same. She is an excellent fortune teller and all that.

What if Nancy almost dying was a failsafe in case they ever manage to destroy the curse? What if that was supposed to happen?

What if her plan was for them to always live in fear? Not knowing if they managed to break it or not.

"Maybe we think we broke the curse. How will we ever know that she didn't plan another twist? We will always be looking over our shoulder."

Well, how would they you know that they didn't?

Fear is the enemy of love.

What if she was counting on them to always be looking over their shoulder? For them to always be on edge? For that fear and that doubt to destroy their relationship?

Wouldn't this be the cruelest joke she could play on them.

Nancy Drew Final Season Theory

So since past lives/reincarnation is being hinted at, I’m going to say that Nancy and Ace are star crossed lovers in every one of them. Maybe she’s promised to Tristan (because older times 🙄), but always falls for and chooses Ace (even though it may not end happily for them in each of the past lives). The sins from the towns past could also potentially revolve around some choice made by past Nancy/Tristan/Ace that impacted everyone/changed everything and them making a different choice this time in the present determines the fate of Nancy and Ace’s star crossed love. Nace’s love is literally the light between (all of their past) lives.

at first i thought bess was wearing a lilac shirt but then i noticed nick’s suit and i’m pretty sure it’s actually a DRESS AHHHHHHH i can’t really tell what nancy is wearing

We haven’t gotten enough of the mystery for this to have fully formed in my head- but I feel like the 8 corpses were human sacrifices by the town (or select members of the town’s elite) to [idk insert catastrophic supernatural reasoning here].

Like maybe these corpses have risen before- first when there was only one corpse, then years later two, now we’re up to 8 and their job is to rise and contaminate the water to make people remember so that they know its time to do another human sacrifice. And then once they do, everyone forgets again until the next time.

Somehow Nancy will end up this year’s human sacrifice. Possibly because the person has to be linked to the towns founders somehow. Or, I mean, lets face it- its Nancy. I could see her volunteering as tribute if it doesn’t HAVE to be her for genetic/blood reasons.

But Ace is able to take her place and does some maneuvering to make that happen without her knowledge until the very last minute- and he ends up dying.

To add insult to injury, the first time we learn his last name is because its on his headstone (that would be so freaking Drew Crew Writers of them).

Then idk…time travel or something supernatural fixes it and of course Ace doesn’t die for good.

Like I haven’t thought this through but I just can’t get their refusal to risk each other’s life out of my head and how that might play into more than just the curse and why all these “under the age of 30” corpses died under unknown circumstances.

PS- I also feel like all of this would happen after the curse is broken. So they’d already be together and this human sacrifice thing would be yet another thing tearing them apart.

Okay, so thinking back over the last few episodes ... it really feels we’re about to see more of Ace’s struggles with his own self-worth. He deeply regrets getting involved with Bertram Bobbsey, which is obviously tied up in the end of his relationship with Amanda, which he also feels (justifiably) terrible about. And I think her parting shot about how he thinks he’s the good guy hit deep.

So, as much as I loved the sweet moment where he called and left those little apologies to his mom and the scene with Ryan at the end, I also feel like those moments showed his shaken sense of self. Which has to be extra-jarring after he’d just felt like he’d gained more solid footing with the direction of his life.

I think Ryan’s comments absolutely hit a nerve in Ace’s feelings for Nancy, but they may also have triggered some of his insecurities?

It will be interesting to see what happens over the next couple of episodes and how they play the dynamic between Nancy and Park. Even if Ace is starting to come to terms with his feelings for her, what if he feels like he’s not good enough for her?

The angst potential, y’all. Character-wise and ship-wise. Whew. But it’s worth that journey, because on the other side he could be in such a good place. And be so happy!! As he deserves.

Just got caught up on Nancy Drew and I have a few thoughts/burning questions:

Have all the tarot card fortunes been realized yet? What exactly are we missing? (Y’all know I thinking about the “One of you will lose your heart” fortune)

While the bell doesn’t work in the Claw, you hear the door open well after Ace and Nancy say they are going to Icarus Hall, yet Park suggests immediately he go with them to investigate. I don’t think its foreboding or saying something about Park, just an oopsie...I think...

The Dads remarking that Nancy lying about a fact finding mission is better than lying about walking into a house with nail bombs, so that must be growth. I stan the dads.

I feel deep in my bones that the finale will parallel Beckett and Charity’s love and sacrifice with whatever will happen with Nancy and Ace. Let us hope its light on the sacrifice and heavy on the love

AND MOST IMPORTANTLY: If we have to talk about Ace’s ancestor’s next episode...does that mean we finally learn his last name???

idk if i'm seeing things but is she inside the boat? did something happen on that boat? did something happen to their captain? did ghost!gf try to kill ace and thom? is she a road back agent? did nancy erase that sin so thom would not remember? i have so many questions
